A sign having` a base formed of a pluralityyoi spaced pairs of bars each of said pairs ofha'rs deiining a slot therebetween, display characters extending across all of the n pairs of bars, and fastening elements on said characters and extending through each of vsaidslots toattach said characters to all of said pairs of bars.
