IMPROVEMENT IN TOWEL-RACKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 158,739, dated January 12, 1875; application filed November 4, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH A. REYNOLDS, of the city, county, and State-of New York, have invented a new and Improved Towel- Rack; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanyi-ngdrawin gs and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct myrack with two or more rods or fingers E, finished at one end with a metal cap, F, cast on or driven on and nailed, the other end being firmly inserted in the sockets D. These sockets are confined between the plates 0 by the pins 9, so as to allow alateral movement of the sockets with the sticks or fingers E, held and supported by them. The plates 0 are also riveted to the bracket B by the pin g, giving a joint at that point, so as to allow their moving laterally in either direction, independent of the motion of the separate arms. The screw A is firmly attached to the bracket B, and is used to secure the rack in position for use.
I claim- A towel -rack consisting of the screwbracket A B, the plates 0, and the sockets D, the latter being jointed on the plates, while the plates are jointed to the bracket, in the manner and for the uses set forth.
