SHOE-HEEL PROTECTOR.
Application led September 29, 1924. Serial No. 740,550.
This invention relates to a shoe heel protector for ladies shoes to be used driving ,an automobile.
The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which will-.protect the heel and prevent the accelerator and the bottom of the car from wearing out the shoe heel and the parts of the shoe adjacent thereto.
l IVith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination andarrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the recise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a heel protector constructed in accordance with this invention;
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section thereof with ahigh heel of a shoe shown in dotted line position therein;
Fig. 3 is a transverse section thereof; and Fig. 4 is a horizontal section taken on the line 4 4 of Fig. 2.
It is well known among women car drivers thatshoe heels and the material adjacent the heels becomes worn and soiled from contact with the car Hoor when using the pedals and when it is to overcome this objection that this pro` tector is devised.
This protector comprises a hollow heel 1 provided at its upper end with a horizontal partition 2 of rubber having an opening 3 therein for the passage therethrough of a high heel of a shoe as is shown at 5 in Fig.

This casing 6 is equipped at its front end with attaching straps 7 and 8 which are :equipped with any suitable cooperating fasteners, a button and buttonhole being here shown `although obviously any `other form of fastener may be used. The 'strap 8 fits around the shoe in advance of the heel up over the instep which securely holds the protector in place and adapts it to receive the Wear and soil which would otherwise be borne by the shoe heel.
These protectors may be quickly applied and removed and if left in place will not be disfiguring.
I claim 1. In a shoe heel protector, a body includsaid partitioning member being formed of` rubber material and spaced from the bottom of the casing, said partitioning member having an opening to allow the heel of a shoe to pass therethrough and means for securing the casing to a s oe.
