IMPROVEMENT IN SPONGE-HOLDERS.
Specilication forming part of Letters Patent No. 158,573, dated Januar;Y 12, 1875; application tiled April 17, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, EUGNE GOTTFRID CoNRADsoN and ALBIN FoRsELI., both of the city of Brooklyn, Kings county, State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Sponge-Holders, of which the following is a specilication The object of our invention is to provide for a cheap, strong, and convenient sponge-holder, by aid ofwhich a sponge is held securely to a metallic holder, which again is fastened to a wooden handle of sufficient length to reach Windows, Walls, ceilings, &c., Which are required to be cleaned.
Our invention consists in constructing a straight or bent stem, provided on the upper part with three forks, extending from the stem at equal distances apart, perpendicular to the stem, and terminating at the ends in prongs bent downward at right angles to the forks.
The stem is made pointed at the other end for the purpose of piercing the sponge, which is pressed up against the forks, the prongs penetrating into the sponge, and preventing the same from being twisted or turned. A circular sleeve, with a hole in the center tting the stem, is then slipped over the pointed end, and pressed against the sponge, and held in this position by aid of a set-screw applied to the sideof the sleeve-holder.
In order to describe more fully our invention, We refer to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specitication.
