IMPRovl-:MENT IN PLows.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 15S-.561, dated Jazuary 5, 1875; application filed October 26, 1874.
` To all whom it may concern:
and more durable construction ot' plows, by
the combination of a Wroughtiron beam with a cast-iron plowplate.
The following is a description of the construction of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings.
In Figure 1, R represents the land-side plow-plate, having a groove, D S, into which the end of a Wrought-iron beamB, its snugly, and is fastened in its place by means of bolts at the points m. There is also a groove, F M, along the bottom of the plate to receive the sole-plate and share, which are also fastened in vtheir place by means of bolts.A On top of the groove D S is a raised socket, K, to receive the cutter. On the back side of the plate, at the points I and L, are slight projections or flanges, to which the mold-board C is bolted, and from the points S to E is anotherange, under which part of the land-side handle G fits, and is made fast by a bolt at E. This handle is further secured to the land-side plowplate by bolts at the points o. The whole of the above plate is cast in one piece.
Fig. 2 represents the Whole plow when put together.
I claim as my inventionl. The land-side plow-plate R, having the extension beam-piece H S, provided with a groove for the beam B, and a raised socket, K, for the cutter, all constructed as shown and described.
2. The combination of the plate R D S, beam B, mold-board O, point F, and land-side handle Gr, as constructedand operating as shown and described.
