IMPROVEMENT IN SCRUBBlNG-BRUSHES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 158,459, dated January 5, 1875; application fil d November 21, 1874 drawing, forming a part of this specification,

The invention relates to means whereby floors may be cleansed in a simple and effect ual manner, and with as little labor as possible to the servant or person engaged in the clean ing operation. These means will first be fully described in connection with all that is necessary to a full understanding thereof, and then pointed out in the claim.
A A represent a pair of scrubbing'brushes connected by a plate, B, having the narrow and preferably round intermediate neck b. D Y is a holder provided with end-concaved jaws d d, which fit over the neck I), and are held loosely pivoted thereto by a spring, E. Thus the two scrubbers are employed with great facility and at great advantage, while the operator actuates the Whole by a suitable handle,F. The mop-rag or other equivalent device is seized by the jaws d d and worked easily and efficiently. Thus the scrubberholder D is adapted also as a mop-holder, and may be used successively for each purpose.
In practice this invention is found to greatly economize time, while the best quality of work is performed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, is l r A scrubbing-brush consisting of brushes A A, united by a plate, B B, having neck b and a holder, D E F, as shown and described.
