Be it known that I, PERCY GAvIN, a eitlzen of the United States, residing at Nation- 'al'Sanitarium, in. the county of Washington and State of Tennessee, have invented certain new and useful .Improvements 'in Radio Amplifying Receivers, of which the following is a specificationn The present invention relates to receivers primarily intended for use in radio oommunication; and the primary object of the invention is to provide a device of this character for producing, reproducing, or magnifying speech or any other tone with suiiicient amplitude and volume, 'and at the same time reducing to Va minimum all undesirable sounds and disturbances, by reason of the softness of which the tones are produced.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an improved receiver of the character speciiied, wherein the aforementioned results l,are obtained by the magnetic coupling of a pair of co-acting diaphragme serving as independent pole pieces of independentfpernianent magnets of the receiver, in the magnetic iield of the electro-magnets of the receiver'.

Referring particularly now to the casing B, the saine consists of inner and outer nested cups-l() and il respectively.' which are preferably but not. essentially formed of magnetic metal, and which .cu ps arev insulatively separated one within the other as by a thin'cup l2 formed of any suitable insulating material. These cups l0 and l are of theusual configuration as that of the present Watchc'ase type of receivers, having cylindrieal side walls and fiat bottom portions.
As willbe observed upon viewing Figures 2, 3 or 4, the cup . members 11, 12 and 10 decrease in height in the respective order given, thus disposing the upper edge of the spacing insulating cup l2 below the upper edge of the out'ei cup ll and above the upper edge of the inner cup l0. The object in so disposing the cups ,with their upper edges in stepped' relation will be subsequently set forth.
