Application ar a June 16, 1925. Serial nannies.
'1 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EnToN T. Fours, a citizen of the United States, residing at lreswell, in the county of Lane and State of Oregon, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Chocolate-Confection-Display Tray, of which the following is a specification.
My present invention relates to my pending application Serial Number 27,775, filed May 4, 1925, in Division 8, for an improvement in a display tray, and to my invention of an improvement in a display tray for bar or package confections, filed herewith.
My invention relates to improvements in display trays, wherein it is desirable to place the goods to be merchandised in attractive form where the customer may inspect the merchandise to be dispensed, and where the same may be handled with the least damage to the goods and wherein the surfaces of the display may not be injured or in any way become apparently damaged from the handling or the rubbing of the surfaces of the goods to be dispensed.
A further object of my present invention consists in the same being sent from the point of manufacture, in a knocked down condition, and after arrival may be easily assembled and used.
A further object of my invention, consists in the removable display tray which may be inclined to better display the merchandise to be dispensed.
A further object of my invention, consists in means adapted to maintain a display card at the forward end of the same descriptive of the goods being merchandised.
A further object of my invention consists in the display tray having bottom, end and side walls adapted to maintain the articles therein that is being displayed when the ame is removed from the display tray.
lVith these and incidental objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combination of parts, the essential elements of which are set forth in the appended claims and to a preferred form of embodiment of which is hereinafter shown with reference to the drawings which accompany and form a part of this specification.
the as Like reference characters refer to like partsv throughout the several views.

Secured to the forward end of the main display tray is a one piece member 4:, adapted to being secured to the display tray by suitable fasteningmeans 5, as threaded memhere, or rivets, or other suitable fastenings, the same adapted to being placed by the purchaser thereof; after being shipped in a knocked down condition from the point of manufacture. Suitable supporting lugs 6, are stamped on the member 4, which maintains the same therein. The inclined removable unit forms a covering for articles to be displayed therein beneath the same and in chocolates and similar confections, it 1s desirable that the goods to be displayed be placed upon the removable unit of the di play tray, without undue handling in order that the surfaces of the same may not become damaged or the finish impaired. It desirable that the removable unit have upturned walls 9, to prevent the articles being displayed from falling oil of the removable unit, as the same is removed and is being handled by the dispenser. Pads 11, are placed upon tie bottom of the same, made of rnbberoor felt, or other suitable material to prevent the damaging of the supporting member on which the same is placed. To stiffen the main display tray, I have placed a reinforcing wire rod 12 thereabout, about which the upper edge of the display tray may be made to encompass to form a strengthening rim and to give a finished appearance to the product.
lVhile the form of mechanism herein shown and described is admirably adapted to fulfill the objects primarily stated, it is to be understood that it is not intended to confine the invention to the one form of embodiment herein shown and described, as.
