Extending through the bottoni of the shuttle or table portion as indicated in Figs. l and s-, is an opening S preferably located at the tip end portion of the shank receiving chamber for the reception, of a through-bolt to be described.
The bobbin holder indicated in Fig. 2 is provided with the elongated shank portion 9 and bobbin holding` jaws l() which are of the same vertical width as the shank portion 9, and between the bobbin holding;` jaws l() and the shank portion 9 the bobbin' holder is bowed, as indicated at ll, such bowed portion being weakened or recessed in order to distribute and coniine the spring action of the bobbin holder` to the bowed portion thereof. In the present instance of the invention, the vertical width of the bobbin holding` jaws l0 between the points a, o, is the same as the vertical width of the shank portion between the points c, d, and between the bobbin holding jaws and the shank portion, the bows ll are recessed or cut away, as at l2, with the result that while the width of the shank portion and jaws remains the same, the spring action or resiliency of the jaws to permit the incoming bobbin to enter between the jaws, is confined to the bow portion of the bobbin holder. This uniform vertical width of the bobbin holding jaws and the shank, gives strength and stability to the bobbin holder as a whole,
while the weakened or recessed bow portions connecting the jaws and shank, distribute and conline the spring action of the bobbin holder to the bows, without weakening the bobbin holding jaws themselves. ll/Yhen, therefore, the bobbin holding jaws lO are separated by the incoming bobbin, the resiliency of the bobbin holder is confined to the recessed bows, the outer surfaces of which where they merge into the shank of the bobbin holder bear against the reinforced portion of the shank receiving chainber.

Heretofore it has been the usual practice to secure the top plate of the bobbin guide to the shuttle by a screw passing into the wood of the shuttle7 a construction which is liable to permit detachment of the parts under the severe strains and shocks towhich the shuttle is subjected. An automatically replenishing shuttle having an elongated shank receiving chamber, a bobbin holder comprising an elongated shank portion occupying the shank receiving chamber and bobbin holding jaws of the same width vertically as the shank portion and connected thereto by a recessed bow distributing the spring ot the jaws to such recessed bow, and two bolts passing through the elongated shank portion of the bobbin holder' at right angles to each other.
