Be it known'that LRnnrii HTNCI-iurr, a citizen. of the United States. residing at. Rockforchin the county of Tinnehago and 5 State of Illinois, have inventedv certain new and useful Improvements in Knitted Stockings, of which the following is a specification.
This invention pertains in general to knitings, and while it should not he understood as being exclusively. confined Ato, knitted wale with plain stitches9, and by staggering the draw stitches in adjacent draw stitch wales a unique and pleasing appearance is imparted to the stocking.
'The stocking possesses, as the result of its novel construction, the requisite elasticity stockings of the'seamless fashioned type, it and is strong and durable, as well as novel is so illustrated herein. I
The primary purpose of my present invention is to provide ya stocking of novel structure and appearance, which will possess the requisite elasticity, be durable in character and present a striking, novel and pleasing appearance.
Other objects of the invention will. be readily appreciated as the same-bepomes better understood by reference to the following description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings.

Referring to the drawings, the leg portion of the stocking, designated generally by reference character 3 and alsov the foot and a stocking emvide draw stitches onthe outer face of the stocking which impart to the stocking a distinctive and pleasing appearance.
While any desired number of different colored yarns may be employed in the formation of the stocking, I have shown inFig. 2 for illustrative purposes, two vcolors of yarns, natnely,l white yarns 4 and 'colored yarns 5. The number ofdifferent colors eniployed, however, may b e` varied \to produce desired effects without departing from the essence ofthe invention.
In the knitting of the stocking, certain wales are composed of plain stitches, while others comprise draw stitches. The relative vnumber of plain and draw stitch wales and 'top portions, if desired. is knit so as to pro- I claim z `1. A. knitted stocking comprising wales of,
plain stitches disposed in alternation with wales of alternate plain and draw stitches, said knitting being done with two yarns of different colors in such order that the two f yarns appear Vin alternation on the face of the lfabric in the plain stitch wales and one yarn appears continuously in wales-of alternate plain and draw stitches.
2. A knitted fabric composed of two yarns of different colors knit in wales ofplain stitches disposed in alternation with wales of alternate 'plain and draw stitches, each yarn being knit in su'ccessivefcourses alternating with like courses of the other yarn.
3. A knittedfabric composed of two yarns' of different colors knit in wales. including i one vyarn only appears on the face of lthe fabric in wales of alternateplain anddraw stitches.
