Be it known that I, lViLLiAM S. BULigf Aa citizen of theUnited States,y residing at Greentown, in the county of Howard and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Attachment for Floor Surfacers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relatesto floor surfacing iuachinesand more particularly to attachinents'thereof.

The object of the invention is to provide an attachment for use in taking care of the dust from the edge roller of a floor surfacing machine such as that known on the njiarketas the American universal floor vs'urfa'ging machine and which maybe quicltly trans? fel-red from one side of` the machifne tojthe' other and connected up ready for use by unscrewing and screwing up the stop nut; it being well known that the' edge roller is transferable from one side to the other of the machine. With the foregoing and other objects in view which will ap ear as the description proceeds, the invention resides inthe com-- bination and arrangement of parts and in the ldetails of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment o theinvention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope ofwhat is'c'laimed without, departing from the spirit ofthe invention,\v In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 represents a side elevation of a floor surfacing machine with this improved attachment shpwn applied to the left hand' side thereof.

The edge roller. or sanding drum 2 is transferable from one end of the/machine to the other and consequently the dust collecting attachment is made transferable. to -cooperate with the edge roller in either position. The edge sanding drum2 is made slightly lar r in diameter than the main drum, not s own, so that the edges-ofthe door may he finished without the main drum touching the door. The only change necessary to be -made in the 'machine proper when applying this attachment is to provide the .fan housing 3 with the additional tubular coupling 12 for connection of the pipe 10 and when the pipe is not in use this coupling 12 may be closed by a top 24 shown in Fig. 3.
