To all/whom t may concern;
Be it known that I, ERICH Gnlssnnn, a German citizen, and residing at Munich- Laim, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in 'an Apparatus for Producing High-Voltage -Currents for Medical Treatment, of'which the following is a specification.
The hitherto known apparatus forl producing high-voltage currents for medical treatment 4are provided with a separate switching-on and adjusting devlce and can be used with special electrodes only. The adjustment'. of the intensity of current as well as the application of the electrodes to the human body is mostly much feared and irksome, because according toithe choice of the electrodes and with a strong adjustment of the current intensity burnings occur frequently, apart from breaks of the glass electrodes if using the same for treating inner parts of the human body.
The present invention overcomes said drawbacks by the provision of means for 2l permanently keeping the apparatus adjusted to a normal intensity of current and automatically eecting the closing of the circuit during its use. Thus, the admission of the high-voltage currents to the humanv i0 body takes place almost u nperceivably.
The automatic switching-on or closlng of the circuit is effected by the current applicator (button-shaped electrodes of lglass or metal), which is connected with the secondary (Tesla) coil in a detachable but conductive way. The closing of the circuit is effected by a depresison of the electrode by means of a human member or' by pressing the same against any place of the human body. Of course, the electrodecan also be operated in anyother way for switching-on the current or for a displacement of the secondary coil, for insta-nce by its'rotation, a lever transmission, or any vother appropriate mechanism As the electrode is connected with the secondary coil, thel latter is dis-l placed against the action'of springs and thereby the contacts, and thus the circuit,

For 'a removal of Warts, corns, beauty spots, or the like, no separate electrodes as hitherto are required, because any metal implement can be used for the purpose in question. Of course, also the known glass or .o metal electrode can be used for treating the human bodyat the places in question.
The apparatus essentially comprises av secondary coil, a primary coil, and a condenser; said parts being assembled in any appropriate shape, for instance in a box, tube, column, or the like, only the current supply and the electrode for switching-on the cur-- rent being visiblev from outside.

Referring to Figs. 1 to 3 inclusive: The apparatus is enclosed by a casing a. The secondary coil b consists, as usual, of a core c, the oilpaper coating d, with the secondary windings e, the glazed paste-board tube f, and the primary windings g leading at one end to the condenser It and at the other end to the interrupter (magnetic hammer break) i. The primary coil q-is of ordinary construction, the interrupterA 'L' being mounted thereon, the discs r arranged on the lat-ter serving as radiating coolers.
In the core c of the secondary coil b a sleeve s` is inserted and designed to receive the electrode shell tl, in which the electrode u is "-detachably inserted.
To make the apparatus operative, the electrode u, and thus also the secondary coil b,
is depressed against the action of springs Z, whereby the contacts n, o and thus the circuit are closed. By ceasing the pressure on the electrode, the circuit is again interrupted.
