' sisting of a shallow receptacle which forms the back of a brush and which is fashioned. to snugly receive a comb and a mirror in such a manner that the same may be readily exposed for use.

A further object of the invention is to provide a toilet article of the character specified which is of highly simplified construction, which may be conveniently car-y ried in a small space, and which is cheap to manufacture.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description.

In the drawing, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 5 generally designates the back of a brush and as illustrated in Figs. 2, 3 and 4 the back 5 consists of a pair of sections 6 and 7 of the same outline and having their opposed sides formed with shallow recesses 8 and 9, respectively.

The shallow recess 8 in the section 6 is adapted for the reception of a mirror 3 having a spring pedestal 10 which forms a means whereby the mirror may be supported in an inclined position during the use of the same. Particular attention is directed to the fact that the spring pedestal l() also forms a` means whereby the .closure section 7 is promptly swung to ythe open position illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3 as soon as the latch 12 carried by the section 7 is released. VIt is believed to be obvious that the latch 12 carried by the cover section 7 e lis adapted to engage the `edge and Aunder side of the section 6 so asto hold the sections 6 and 7 in contact with each other against the tension of the spring pedestal 10. Flg. v2 plalnly illustrates that the shallow recess 9 in the section 7 is .adapted to re' ceive a combi 16 and the ends of the shallow recess 9 are provided with extensions 2O for the reception of the ends of the comb. In other words, the section 7 isprovded with a shallow recess for` the vreception of the comb 16 and the recess is laterally enlarged between its ends Afor the reception of the ngers so that the comb may be conveniently removed.

With reference to the tion taken in connection with the accom# panyng drawing it will be seen that a toilet foregoing vdescrip-v i article constructed in accordance with this invention is of special value to travelersA since it permits the comb and the mirror to be conveniently carried within the back of a brush. In carrying out the invention, the back may be of any shape and may be suitably ornamented. Also the back may' be .Y

of any desired material.

In use by simply releasing the latch 12 f from engagement with the section 6 the spring pedestal 10 will swing the cover to open position to expose the mirror and then comb and the mirror may now be set up for use and the brush and comb conveniently employed. Of course, during the use of the brush, the section 7 is returned to closed position.

Attention is also the spring pedestal 10 in addition to functioning as a support for the mirror and as an opening device; for the sections 6 and 7 constitutes a means to hold the comb 16 in place when the sections are in their closed position. In explaining this feature of the invention it might be said that the spring directed to the factthat ioo 10 causes the mirror 3 to bear constantly against the comb 16v when the' sections are closed and this holds the` comb 16 or other toilet article against movement and rattling. Having thus described the invention,

what is claimed is:

1. The combination with 'a lpair of hingedly connected sections having their opposed 'sides formed with shallow recesses, of a toilet article received in one of said recesses, a second toilet article received in the other recess and having a spring pedestal for supporting the second toilet article and for urging the sections to open position, and a latch for connecting vthe sections.

2. The combiation with a pair of hingedly l connected-Y sections having their' opposed sides formed with shallow7 recesses, of

a toilet article received in one of said reces'ses, a second toilet article received in the other recess and having a spring pedestal for Supporting the second toilet article and for urging the sections to open position, said spring pedestal also constituting a means to hold the first-named toilet article in place in the recess in one of the sections.
