.Be it known that LGERTRUDE ANN LIND- SAY, a citizen of the United States, and a resiof New York, borough of Manhattan, county andState of..Ne\v,Y0rk, have inventeda new and Improved Game Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact desc ription.-

My invention relates to game apparatus and it has for its object to provide interesting games which are played with representations of severalv types fzofhands cut into pieces which may be drawn fromthe center of the table and be fitted in relative positionsto produce types of hands which are normal or grotesque, according to the rules followed.

Additional objects of the invention will appear in the following specification in which the preferred form of the invention is described.

In the drawings similar reference characters refer tmsimilarparts in all the figures, inwhich- Figures 1, 2, '3, 4:, and 5 illustrate sets of pieces representing difierent types of hands;

Figure 6 is. a view illustrating a card showing the type of personhaving one of the hands illustrated in the other figures; and i i T Figures 7 and 8 are views illustrating a modified form of the invention in connection with two additionaltypes of hands.

By referring to the drawings it will be seen that seven types of hands are shown, but it will be understood thatthe particular types of hands which .may be represented are immaterial, and that a larger or. a smaller number of types may be employed.

In the drawin s Figure 1 refers to the Mercury type of hand, Figure 2 'to the Apollo type of hand, Figure 3 to the Saturn type of hand, Figure 4 to the Jupiter type of hand, Figure 5 to the Mars type of hand.

The representations of the different hands are cut into a number of pieces at the lines 10, so that each representation of a hand will have its Jupiter finger 11 cut into three pieces severed from the palm of the hand, and the Saturn finger 12, the Apollo finger 13, and the Mercury finger 14, will also each be cut into three pieces severed from the palm. The thumb 15 will be cut into two pieces, and the palm of the hand 16 will be cut into four pieces at the lines 10.

: Each player is. given :one of the wellknown hand, charts representing one of the hands which is indicated-inthe sets of pieces shown in Figures 1, 2, 8,4 Ior..5 of the drawings. The hand chartsmay be in the form shown in Figures 7 and 8 ofthe draws ings. These handicharts, each of which corresponds with one of the sets of pieces referredto, may be duplicates of the sets of pieces,the parts .ofwhich have not been severed. Each player is alsogivena picture ofthe person who is said to have the traits ofcharacter corresponding with the hand on the chart: held by theplayer. v

Five types of hands ,are shown in the drawings (Figuresl, 2, .3, 4 and 5), and these five hands may be used when there are five players one player having a type of a Mercury hand and pieces forming the Mercury hand such as is shown in picture 1, and also a picture of the type of Mercury person as shown in Figure 6. A second player will have a chart of theApollo type of hand andpieces forming an Apollo hand such as is shown in Figure 2, and also a picture of an Apollotype of'person. third player will have a chart of the Saturn type of hand and pieces forming aSaturn hand such as is shown in Figure 3 and also a picture of a Saturn type of .personfourth player willhave a chart of the J upiter type of hand and pieces forming a J upiter hand such. as is shown in Figure 4c; and also a picture of a Jupiter type of person, and thefifth playerwill have a chart of the Mars type of handand pieces forming a Mars hand such as is: shown in Figure 5 and alsoa .pictureof aMars typeof person.

.Each player will then placewall. of his pieces in the center of the table and these pieces should be thoroughly mixed. Each player must then pick piece by piece from the pile of pieces in the center of the table to fit each section of the hand on his chart and build a hand on his chart which corresponds exactly with the chart. Should he pick up or draw a piece from the center of the table and find that it cannot be used on his chart he should restore it immediately to the center of the table and draw another piece. The one who builds and completes a perfect hand in the shortest time wins the game.

Another game may be played with the apparatus after building each hand on its proper chart and the Winner of the first the corresponding finger.

game may have the first play in the second game, choosing. from the left afinger or other piece from the hand of the player on his left, placing it upon his own chart after he has discarded the corresponding finger or piece. For instance, if he should choose an Apollo finger such as is shown at 13, he first discards'an Apollo-finger. The next player to the right chooses from his left any finger or other part of the hand of the player at his left and places it likewise on his own chart and discards This leaves a vacant "space on the first players chart which must be filled by the discarded finger or piece. When the fifth or last player is reached he is forced to take the discarded finger of the fourth 'playerto complete his hand and he may exchange fingers or other portions of the hand of any of the other players. When this has been done each player should endeavor to read aloud the hand which has been builtup referring to any of the well-known booklets for the information as to the different characteristics of the portion of the hand.

A third and very amusing game may be played by permitting each player to build to read the hand Which he has built by referring to any of the well known'booklets which furnish information with reference to thec'haracteristics of differentportions 0f the hand. y 4

l In Figures '7 and 8 cards arefshown having indicated thereon hands which may correspond with thehands-shown in Figures 1, 2,3, 4; and 5, or they may have indicated thereon other types of hands such asfis shown in Figures 7 and '8; a Lunar hand being shown in Figure 7 and a Venus hand being shown in Fi ure 8.

The cards shownin Figures 7 and 8 as well as additional cards having other types of hands indicated thereon are cut at 18 into squares 17 and these squares may be used instead of the pieces'shown in Figures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for playing the games which have been described.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1. In a game apparatus, a plurality of representations of hands of different types, each with characteristics which distinguishes it from the representations of the other hands, the representations of sthe hands being cut at similar places to form portions, the cut portions of one hand dif fering from the cut portions of the other hands. v l

2. In a game apparatus, a plurality of hand charts of different types, each hand chart having features which distinguishes it from the other hand charts, a plurality of representations of hands of different types corresponding with the charts, the representations of the hands being' cut at similar places to form portions, the cut portion of one hand differing from the cut portions of the other hands.

3. In a game apparatus, a plurality of hand charts of different types, each hand chart having characteristics which distinguishes it from the other hand charts, a plurality of representations of hands of different'types corresponding with the hand charts, the representations of thehands being cut into pieces. I

4. In a game apparatus a plurality of hand charats of different types of hands, a plurality of pictures of persons representing "the different types and a lurality of representations of hands of di' erent types corresponding with the charts, each rep resentation of a hand being cut into pieces. 5. In a game apparatus, a plurality of members having indicated thereon hands. the hands being of different types, each memberbeing out into pieces which correspond in'size and shape with thepieces of the other members respectively.
