DOOR HOOK.
Application filed July 17, 1924. Serial No. 726,575.
To all whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, LOUIS FRAsoI-I, a citi-' cludes a yoke member adapted t b611101111ted upon a support adjacent the door, there being a bumper mounted upon the yoke member and a spring actuated hook pivotally mounted thereon. A catch member is adapted to be applied to the door and may engage the bumper and the hook simultaneously.
In the accompanying drawing:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the door hook. I v
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.
The door hook structure comprises a yoke member 1, which may be secured to a suit able support 1, adjacent a swinging or sliding door. A cushion 2 is mounted upon one end portion ofthe yoke member 1 and may serve as a bumper for the door. A hook 3 is pivoted at a point between its ends to the yoke member 1 as at 4, and the point 5 of the hook is disposed opposite one end of the yoke member 1 and above the cushion or bumper 2. A pull rod 7 is pivotally connected at its upper end with the hook 8, and the lower portion of saidpull rod passes transversely through the intermediate portion of the yoke member 1. A nut 8 is screwed upon the lower end of the pull rod 7 and holds a treadle 6 on the pull rod. A
coil spring 9 is interposed between the upper end of the pull rod 7 andthe inner surface of the intermediate portion of the yoke member 1, and the convolutions of the spring 9 are coiled'around the intermediate portion of the pull rod 7. The spring 9 is under tension with a normal tendency to hold the pointed end .5 of'the. hook 3 in a lowered position. A catch member 10 is adapted to be applied to the door, The catch member 10 is provided with an angular disposed end portion 11 adapted to engage under the point 5 of the hook, when the door moves toward the hook structure. lVhen the catch member 10 is in engagement with the pointed end portion 5 of the hook 3, as shown in Figure 1, and it is desired to.
release the door fromthe hook structure, the
treadle 6 is depressed, whereby the hook 8' is swung upon the pivot A, and the pointed end 5 of the hook is carried above the angularly disposed end portion 11 'of the catch 10 and the door to which the said catch is applied may be moved with relation to the hook structure.
Having claimed is:
A door hook structure comprising a yoke described the invention, what is member including an intermediate portion I and a pair of side portions, said intermediate portion adapted to be attached to a support, a hook pivoted intermediate its ends to the end of one side portion and having an end. portion located within the yoke member, a cushioning bumper mounted upon the end of the other side portion, a pull rod slidable through the last mentioned side portion and pivotally engaged with said end of the hook, a spring on said pull rod for holding said end of the hook toward the side on which said hook is pivoted, and a catch member adapted to be engaged by the cushioning.
bumper and provided with an angularly disposed end portion adapted to be engaged by the hook.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
LOUIS FRASCH.
