MILK-BOTTLE HOLDER.

To all 'whom t may concern:

Be it known that GIROLAMO SOLDANI, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Spencer, in the county of Worcester and State of Mass achu'setts,C has invented new and useful Improvements in Milk-Bottle Holders, of which the following is a specification.

The object of the invention is to provide efficient means. for receiving and holding a milk bottle or like receptacle on delivery by the vendor under conditions in which, the same is protected from the attacks of bugs, cats and other animals which are likely. to tamper with the same when deposited,

as in the ordinary practice on the door. orl step or in the vestibule with consequent loss to the consumer by reason of the spilling or adulteration of the contents of the receptacle; and particularly to provide a device for the purpose indicated which may be constructed at a small cost and which when vin position within convenient reach of the vendor is comparatively inconspicuous and not unsightly;' and with these objects inv view the invention consists in a. construc tion and combination of parts of which a preferred embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein 3.0 Figure 1 is a side view.

Figure 2 is a front view, and Figure 3 is a rear vievw of a bottle holder constructed in accordance with the invention. Figure 4 is a plan view of the blank from which the holder is formed.`

post or other available support together with the arms 11 and 12, the platform 14 and the wings 15 which extend laterally 55 from the base orv attaching plate between the lower arms 12 and the platform, may be struck from a single sheet of metal or like material to form a blank as illustrated in Figure 4 and which may be then folded on the dotted lines indicated in said figure to occupy the relative positions indicated in Figures l, 2 and 3. In the construction illustrated the base or attaching plate is provided with openings 18; for the reception 'of fastening screws or nails and the said plate is longitudinally beaded as indicated at'19v to afford the requisite stiffness thereto or 'to act as a reinforcement against bending.

The wings 15 when attached as described to the platform serve to support the latter in the horizontal position parallel with the clamps and the, arms forming th'e upper clamp are preferably drawn together close 75 to the plane of the base or attaching plate j and secured by a transverse rivet 20 so that the upper clamp maybe contracted sufficiently to snugly engage the neck o-f the bottle. 80

Having described the invention, `what is claimed as new and useful is A milk bottle holder cconsisting' of a blank of sheet material inthe form of an elongated strip having a. base or attachin plate portion provided with a longitu inally disposed rib, upper and lower pairs of arms extending from the side edges of said strip at points between the ends of the rib, a platform formed by an extension of the lower. end of the base or attaching plate portion, and lateral bracing wings extending from the side edges of the base or attaching plate portionl near its' lower end and providedwith terminal ears secured to the platform at points below the llower arms, the arms of the upper pair bein drawn together close tothe plane of the ase or attaching plate portion" and secured together at a point above the lower arms toform a contracted 100 clamp for the neck of a bottle.
