To all-whom it may concern:
Be it'known that-we, DAVID Mounts and .THEODORE MORRIS, of San Francisco, in the State' of California, have invented au irnprovement in device for regulating the sup- -ply of water in boilers, tanks, and other recelvers, and for cutting 0E the pressure of Figure 1 1s a sectional side elevation, and Fig. 2 is a sectional end elevation.

The rising of the iioat is gradual; hence the motion of the water is gradually checked, whichavoids all concussion in the pipes from the momentum of the water.
When in use it is found that the wheel ac'- celerates in motion, so as to check the flow di' the waterlbut little.

It will be seen that-the s11pply',tank E is never entirely iilled, butgis kept at the'desired level by thel adjustment of the float 'I which may be adjustedas described. The pipe N conducts the steam Which'may be generated inu the boiler or heater int the supply-tank, where it is condensed,tbereby relieving the pressure whichweuld ctherwise be liable tol arise in the boiler orheater.
It will be seen that bythe use `Vof our-invention the necessity of a tank uponjthe house-top is avoided, as the pressure from the supply-pipe will be cut of andthe water still be allowed to iiow freely.
