Water circulating apparatus for a steam boiler which is contained wholly within the boiler and is operated without the use of means external thereto, comprising an open-mouthed flared collector opening toward and located immediately adjacent the crown of afurnace at the point of maximum initial heat, a dip pipe extending upwardly from the dead water space into the collector and passing thereinto, a circulator tube leading upwards from the collector into the steam space of the boiler, the upper end of the circulator tube being closed and a branch therefrom of smaller sectional area than the circulator tube also leading upwards into the steam space, the dip pipe being of smaller sectional areathan the circulator tube.
