In a scroll saw, the combination of a table, means under said table for reciproeating the saw-blade, a head above said table, a casing adjustable up and down on said head comprising tension means, means for securing said casing to said head in adjusted positions, a step-pulley comprising a pulley of greater diameter between a pair of pulleys of smaller diameter journaled in said casing, a pair of coil springs, a flexible connection about said pulley of greater diameter having operative connection with said saw-blade, a pair of flexible connections about said pair of pulleys of smaller diameter, a fork extending from, the lower ends of said springs and receiving said tension means between the tines of said fork, means on said casing for adjusting the upper ends of said springs, a bracket extending from the upper ends of said springs, and a bellows comprising heads respectively secured to said fork and to said bracket.

In a scroll saw, the combination of a table, means under said table for reciprocating the saw-blade, a head above said table, a casing adjustable up and down on said head comprising tension means, means for securing said casing to said head in adjusted positions, astep-pulley comprising a pulley of greater diameter between a pair of pulleys of smaller diameter journaled in said casing a pair of coil springs, a flexible connection about said pulley of greater diameter having operative connection with said saw-blade, a pair of flexible connections about said pair of pulleys of smaller diameter, a fork extending from the lower ends of said springs and receiving said tension means between the tines of said fork, means on said casing for adjusting the upper ends of said springs, a bracket extending from the upper ends of said springs, a bellows comprising heads respectively secured to said fork and to said bracket, a pipe extending from said bellows, said pipe including a flexible section and a mouth adjacent to said saw-blade, and means for adjustably secur' ing said mouth to said head with relation to said table and said saw-blade. In a scroll saw, the combination of a table, a head thereabove, a casing, means for adjusting said casing on said head compris ing a bolt, a step-pulley comprising a pulleyof greater diameter between a pair of pulleys of smaller diameter and ournaled in said casing, a flexible connection about said pulley of greater diameter arranged for connection with the saw-blade, a pair of flexible connections about said pair of pulleys of smaller diameter, a pair of spaced-apart coiled springs, a fork, the tines of said fork and the upper ends of said pair of flexible connections secured to the lower end of said spring, said bolt located in the space between said, tines, a bracket secured to the upper ends of said springs, and a bellows comprising heads respectively secured to said fork and to said bracket, said pair of flexible connections, springs, fork and bracket inclosed in said casing.

In a scroll saw, the combination of a 7 table, a head thereabove, a casing, vmeans for adjusting said casing on said head comprising a bolt in said casing, a step-pulley comprising a pulley of greater diameter between a pair of pulleys of smaller diameter and journaled in said casing, a flexible connection about said pulley of greater diameter arranged for connection with the saw-blade,- a pair of flexible connections about said pair of pulleys of smaller diameter, a pair of spaced-apart coiled springs, a fork, the tines of said fork and the upper ends of said pair of connections secured to the lower ends of said springs, said bolt located 'in the space between said tines, means on said casing for adjusting the upper ends of said springs up and down, a bracket and said last-named means secured to the upper ends of said springs, and a bellows comprising heads respectively secured to said'fork and to said bracket, said pair of flexible connections, springs, fork and bracket inclosed in said casing. p
