PISTON GUIDE FOR WINDli/IILLS.
Application led July 28, 1924. Serial No. 728,754.
To all whom it may eminem.'
Be it known that l, Foonn HEMJE, a citizen ot the United States,-residing at Hildreth, in the county of Franklin and State of Nebraska, have invented a new and useful Piston Guide or lVindmills, of which the following is a specieation.
The object ot my invention is to provide a piston guide forwindmills adapted for attachment on the devices now in use to prevent the piston trom -Wobbling and wearing out of true. l attain thesel and other objects of my invention by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in Which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of my invention;
Fig. 2 is a vertical section on line 22 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a vertical section on line 3-3 ot Fig. 2;
Fig. 4 is a horizontal section on line 4--4 ot Fig. 1; and
Fig. 5 is a perspective View of my device.
vLike numerals indicate like parts in each ot the several views.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, l provide a piston 2 attached to the rod 3 and slidably mounted in the guide trame 1. Piston 2 carries a bolt 8 Which extends through the block 9 and also through the crank 6 Which is in turn attached by bolt 7 to the crank Wheel 4 mounted on shaft 5, as shown in Fig. 3. Block 9 is guided by the opposite guide frames 10 which l have provided and which in turn are attached to the upper guide frame 11 and to the spacing block 16 of lowerguide frame 15. Lower guide trame `is attached to guide frame 1 by bolts 14, as shown in Fig. 4, thus leaving the space 17 to permit of the swinging movement of crank 6.
In operation, the vert-ical guide arms 10 keep the block 9 in a straight vertical path and prevent the piston from Wobbling or Wearing loose.
What l claim is:
1. In a piston guide for Windmills, the combination of vertical guide strips, spaced guide frames to which said vertical guide strips are aiiixed, said guide trames in turn being aiiixed to the main piston guide trame, and a block slidably mounted between the guide strips and pivotally mounted on the boltf to which the crank arm and piston are operatively connected.
2. A piston guide for Windmills, consisting of vertical guide members, a guide block slidably mounted between said guide members and operatively connected with the crank arm which drives the piston, and means for securing said vertical guide members in a ixed vertical spaced position relative to the functional mechanism of the Windmill, substantially as and for the purposes described.
