Another object of the inventionris to provide a shirt cuff of the above type wherein a single button secured to the inner face of the inner cuff side is adapted to be passed through buttonholes formed in the iap or cuff extension and the outer straight side of the cuff' when the flap or cuff extension is folded inwardly to present the straight type of cuff with the retaining button viewable only at the outer side of the cuff.
17i/'ith the above general objects in view and others that will become apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists of the novel -form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing andv claimed.
In the drawing, wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, n
Figure l is a perspective view of a combination shirt cuff constructed in accordance with the present invention, the flap or cuff extension being illustrated in an extendedv ,sent ac French @uit and Y, i u

The straight cuif 2 is preferably of double ply construction and a double ply flap 4 is secured to the inner face of the straight cuff, the inner edge thereof being secured by the stitching 3 to the wrist end of the shirt sleeve l and straight cuilq 2 while the iap 4 is further secured adjacent the outer end of the straight cuff 2 at the point 5 resulting in a liange extension 6 carried by the straight cui 2.
The cuif flap 4 carries an extension 7 of general cuff formation. and provided with registering'button holes 8 whilethe straight cuff 2 and inner Hap 4 are provided with registering button holes 9 that preferably extend at right angles to each other, while a but-ton l0 is secured to the inner face of the inside section of the cuff, the button l0 being located for passage through the openings S in the flap extension 7 and the opposite opening 9 when the flap extension 7 is folded inwardly to present the straight cuff effect.
The flap or cui extension 7 is illustrated in an extended position in F ig. l and may be moved either inwardly of the straight cuff 2 or outwardly thereof to overlie the same. Figure 2 shows the cuff extension 7 folded inwardly with the button l0 passed through the registering button holes 8 an-d 9 with Vthe flange edge 6 of the straight cuff 2 projecting beyond the folded edge of the cuff extension 7. In this position, the
extension 7 is entirely hidden from View reo and the cu presents the straight type effeet present in certain styles of shirts. Then the cuff extension 7 is folded outwardly to overlie the straight cuff 2 as shown in Fig. 3, the Several button holes S and 9 register and an ordinary cuff link may be passed therethrough. Thenthe cuff extension `7 is soI folded, any 'crease that inight have resulted by folding the eXtension inwardly as shown in `Fig. 2, will not be exposed to View and the detrimental effeet of afolding reversible cufffisleliniinated, the combination cuif being` folded to present either a straightA or :French cuff with any crease or fold entirely hidden Vfronti viewf'llhe edge flange 6 at the' outer bya` button attached to the shirt cuff.
lIVhile there is herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is nevertheless to 'be understood that rminor v"changes` may be made therein Without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
That is claimed as new is l. In a combination shirt cuff, a straight cuff section, and a cuff extension foldable upon a line inwardly of and close tothe outer edge of the straight cuff for giving either 'a straight or French cuff effect and the connection between the straight cuff and extension being lspaced inwardly of and close to the outer edge of the straight cuff and at the inner side of the Straight cuff.
