A. STONE GARMENT BAG Filed May 1, 1924 Ill IN VE/VTOR A TTOHNEYS.

ABRAHAM. STONE, or BROOKLYN, nnw Yonx.
GARMENT BAG.
Application filed May 1,
To all whom it may concern I Be it known that I, ABRAHAM STONE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, city and 5 State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment Bags, of which the following is a specification. 3
This invention relates to improvements in garment bags and more particularly to improvements in supporting hooks for mothpreventive bags. The particular object of the invention is to provide a supportingrhangerwhich will be cconomical to manufacture and which at the same time can be adjusted in any plane with reference to the plane of the garment bag, unlike the present hangers employed on this variety of garment bags.
Further objects of the invention will be apparent from the drawing, in which- Figure 1 shows in perspective a. garment bag equipped with one of my improved hangers,
Figure 2 is a side view of said bag and hanger showing the hook held in a plane parallel with the body of the bag, and
Figure 3 is a side View of the bag and hanger showing the hook held at right 7 angles to the body ofthe bag.
1 designates a paper moth-preventive garment bag of the usual construction and 2 my improved hanger whichv is constructed in. the following manner:
The hook 3 is swivelled in the metallic sleeve 4 so that the hook 3 can be rotated at any angle. This is an important advantage with this style of hanger because usually these hooks are rigidly fastened to the sup- 1924.' Serial No. 710,245.
porting members be supported in plane of the hook.
and so the bag can only a fixed relation with the the swlvel connection of the hook with its supporting memb ers, the hanger can be held in any position with relation to the bag as is shown in Figures 2 and 3. The sleeve 4:
is loosely held by and rotatably mounted in the rectangular holder 5 whose ends are fixed in the collar 6, an extension of which forms the plate 7 which body of the bag struck is directly fastened to the 1 by means of the teeth 8 up from the body of said plate.
I am aware that in its general form this hanger is old and well known in the art but what I claim in my particular invention is the mounting and support of the hook by which it may be rotated or hung in any .plane with reference to the position of the garment bag itself said plate being inturned, a hook carrier comprising a substantially rectangular member passing thro said plate so as ugh the inturned end of to be revolubly supported,
the said hook carrier having an upwardly bent portion in the upper part thereof, a sleeve loosely connected to said carrier at the said upwardly bent portion of the upper to said sleeve, sa
end thereof, and a hook revolubly connected id hook being adapted to turn about an axis perpendicular to said sleeve.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature.
ABRAHAM STONE.
In this case, owing to I
