which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings;
The manufacture of loop threads and effect threads is already known. The machines hitherto in use forthis purpose for manufacturing long looped,"tightly twisted loop yarns, however, have had the great drawback that the spools for the necessary groups of threads were arranged in a disadvantageous manner on revolvmg CllSCS which were 1n part bullt as driving steppulleys, for each of which a special drive was necessary. In this arrangement the thread spools are not only limited ma. very inconvenient manner with respectto their size which must correspond to the dimensions of the pulleys, but it is almost impossible to arrange several thread spools on; apulley on account; of the complicated arrangement aswell as the strain on :the various pulleys. The result of this arrange ment of the thread rolls is, as will readily beseen, that the force of gravity or the centrifugal action has a veryfunfavorable influence on the entire device, being detrimental both to the working qualities of the machine as well as tothe stress on the working parts. a i a i Q 'In contrast tothis," these drawbacks are to be eliminated altogether in a very convenient manner by the present invention, the essential thing in which is that a ll thread systems except the winding thread are ar ranged on largespools of any size, independently of the spindle on the frame of the machine, whereas the winding thread system isarranged on upright spoolsof a 'device which is arranged to rotate over the winding peg and provided with guides. The driving of the main or upright thread system and the fancy or loop thread system jointly is here very simple and is performed by merely running the winding peg spindle from a gearing. whichisdriven by a belt pulley from the main, driving shaft and which serves at the same time for driving thewinding thread device and the pulling rollers as well asthe winding device for the finished loop yarn. The several gear spindles of the spinning devices are an ranged alongside of each other and'may be independently lifted at any timeby means of an eccentric disengaging device and thus driving disengaged singly from the main shaft. 1 i

Figsfii and 41 show two views of theholder and the winding device of the winding thread system. i i a The machine for manufacturing loop yarn consists of the machine frame 1, on thefront part of which thespools 3 of the main thread system 4 are arranged on pins 2 disposed in any desired manner and wherethe spools 6 of the fancy thread system 7 are also on pins disposed in any desired manner. Above the spools 3/6 is the already wellknown hollow spindle of the winding peg 8 which at its lower end is fitted witha driving pulley 9 and which is journalle-d in a casing 10 held perpendicularly by a support- 12 fastened'to a longitudinal bar 11 of the frame of the machine 1. In this case the upright thread 1 is passed in the well known way directly through the rotary spindle while the loop-thread 7 on the'other hand,
is passed over a guide bar 13 secured to the frame 1 of the machine and further on throughan eye 14: of the casing 10 upwardly along the outside of samethrough a hole 15 provided at the upper end of the casing 10 and on to the winding peg 8. Perpendicularly above the winding peg spindle a disc 20 is arranged which is provided with a drive pulley 16 as wellas supporting pins 17 for the spools 18 of the winding thread system 19. This disc has a hollow gudgeon 21 journaled in a'bearing on a longitudinal bar 23. On the lower side of the disc 20 winding pegs 25 are arranged which serve as yarn guides and which are connected by an adjustable and lockable bridge 24:. Further the hub 26 of the disc 20 is provided with yarn guide holders 27 which also lead downwards being bent out laterally and grasping around the bridge, 24; and under the winding yarn rollers 18. The winding thread 19 from the spools 18 is passed over the yarn guide holder 27 and the winding forms% to the winding peg 8. well as the device for the winding thread system, a gear spindle 32 is provided, which. is journaled in bearings 28 and 29 of the longitudinal bars 11/22 of the machine frame and provided with proper driving pulleys 30 and 31, the said spindle being driven from the main driving shaft 33 by means of belt pulleys 34 and whereby the upright. thread system and the loop thread system are driven jointly merely by the winding thread spindle. For running off the finished fancy thread 36 two pulling rollers 39 and 40 are provided which are journaled in two brackets 37 and 33 of the upper longitudinal bar 22 of the frame, one of said rollers 40 being journalel loosely in the bearing grooves of the brackets 39 and 40 so as to rest on the lower roller 39. The lower roller 39 is here driven by means of a worm wheel 41 on a laterally projecting journal, the said worm wheel engaging another worm 46 journalled between the bearing arms 42 and 4.3 of the bracket 38 and provided with a step pulley 45 driven by step pulley 44 of the intermediate shaft. For winding the finished fancy thread 36 a winding device 47 is provided which is arranged above the frame and driven by the pulling roller 39. the said winding device 47 bringing the loop yarn in a shape which is immediately ready for the market without any further finishing work and at once ready for weaving. In order to disengage any of the spinning devices which are arranged in any desired number alongside of each other and united to a spinning jenny, the gear spindles 32 may be lifted up in their braoltets 28. 29 whereby the upper bearing 39 is provided with a laterally reversible eccentric segment 50 which catches under disc 49 of the step pulley 44, the said eccentric segment being moved by means of a disengaging rod 52 which slides in guides 51 of the bracket 37.
The special advantages of the present invention consists chiefly both in the particular simplicity of the construction as well as in the'possibility afforded of using spools of any convenient size for the various groups of thread, as well as any number of spools at one time for the thread systems, whereby the upright thread system and the loop thread system are run jointly merely by the winding peg spindle. In this case the spools which are brought from the spinning jenny can be placed in the machine without unwinding, so that no interruption in the process takes place.
-t is believed that the operation of the parts hereinbefore described will be obvious from the foregoing description in connection with the drawings. It will be understood that any suitable number of twisting spindles may be mounted in a single frame, each spindle and the associated disk threads from suitable bobbins 3 extend directly through the tubular body of each twisting spindle, while the loop forming threads extend from bobbins 6 through the guide 14 on the stationary spindle case 10, and the aperture 15 in such case into position to be engaged by the spindle and looped about the core threads. The loop and core threads are unit..d or bound together by the winding threads from the bobbins 13 depending from the rotary disk 20.
By properly moving the cam member 50. the driving shaft 32 of each twisting spindle and its associated rotary disk 20 may be disconnected from the friction disk 34- on the power shaft 33.
Having now more fully described and ascertained the nature of my invention and in what manner the same isto be performed, I declare that what I claim is:
1. In a machine for the purpose described, the combination of a relatively stationary support for a core thread bobbin, a similar support for a loop thread bobbin, a winding peg spindle positioned to receive thread from bobbins on both said supports, and a rotatable support for a winding thread bobbin positioned to deliver thread from the bobbin thereon at the end of the winding peg spindle.
2. In a machine for the purpose described, the combination of a relatively stationary support for a core thread bobbin, a similar support for a loop thread bobbin, a substantially vertical winding peg spindle arranged above said supports and adapted to receive thread from bobbins on both, and a rotatable support for a winding thread bobbin positioned to deliver thread from the bobbin thereon at the upper end of the winding peg spindle.
3. In a machine for the purpose described, the combination of a relatively stationary support for a core thread bobbin, a similar support for a loop thread bobbin, a winding peg spindle positioned to receive thread from bobbins on both said supports, a rotatable support for a winding thread positioned to deliver thread from the bobbin thereon at the end of the winding peg spindle, a driving shaft, and means for rotating both the spindle and rotary bobbin support from said shaft.
4. In a machine for the purpose described, the combination of a relatively stationary support for a core thread bobbin, a similar support for a loop thread bobbin, a tubular winding peg spindle adapted to have a thread from a core thread bobbin extend therethrough, a stationary casing through which the spindle extends provided with means for guiding a loop thread into position therein to be engaged by the spindle, and a rotatable support for awinding thread bobbin positioned to cause thread from a bobbin thereon to engage the core and loop threads at the end of the casing about the spindle.
5. In a machine for the purpose described,
the combination of a relatively stationary support for a core thread bobbin, a similar support for a loop thread bobbin, a winding peg spindle positioned to receive thread from bobbins on both said supports, a rotatable support for a winding thread bobbin positioned to deliver thread from the bobbin thereon to connect the loopand core threads, a common driving shaft for both the spindle and rotary bobbin support, a power shaft adapted to actuate the driving shaft, and
means for moving the driving shaft bodily to disconnect it from the power shaft.
6. In a machine for the purpose described,
the combination of a supporting frame, a tubular winding peg spindle mounted in said frame, means on the frame for supporting a core thread bobbin and a loop thread bobbin, the thread froma core thread bobbin being adapted to extend through the winding peg spindle, a casingon the frame through which the spindle extends, having near the operative end of the spindle an aperture through which a thread from a loop thread bobbin can pass to the spindle, and a rotary disc mounted on the frame above the winding peg spindle and provided with a depending support for a winding thread bobbin.
