J. F. KEMMERLING ROOFING BRACKET Filed Oct. 10.- 1923 JACOB .FI Kfmzzez [N6 /NVENTO ATTORNEYS vide the foot 26 with an aperture 27 arranged to cooperate with any one of a plurality of apertures 28 formed in the member 17 to permit the passage through the aperture 27 and the corresponding aperture 28, when the link 25 is in its overthrow position, of any member suitable for preventing relative movement of the foot 26 and member 17, such, forexample, as a nail.
From the above description it will be obvious that with the parts positioned as shown in Figures 1 and 2 the frame 22 will form a shoulder effective to hold the plank 21 in position against the roof 13 and iLClJUStable to cooperate with planks of various widths.
closure herein is illustrative only and that my invention is not limited thereto but is intended to and does include all changed and modified constructions which lie within the spirit of my invention and are effective for the purpose for which my invention was primarily made.
I claim:
1. In combination with a roofing bracket having a plank supporting member arranged to receive a plurality of hooks, a shoulder for engaging the edge of such plank and comprising: a frame having hooks adapted to be received by said member when said frame is inclined to said member and to be locked to said member when said frame is perpendicular to said member; a link pivoted to said frame, cooperating with said member, and arranged to form with said frame an overthrow linkage adapted when set to hold said frame in such perpendicular position; and means for locking said link in holding position.
2. In combination with a roofing bracket having a plank supporting member arranged to receive a pluralit of hooks, a shoulder for engaging the e ge of such plank and comprising: a frame having hooks adapted to be received by said member when said frame is inclined to said member and to be locked to said member when said frame is perpendicular to said member; and a link pivoted to said frame, cooperating with said member, and arranged to form with said frame an overthrow linkage adapted when set to hold said frame in perpendicular position.
3. In combination with a roofing bracket having a plank supporting member arranged to receive a plurality of hooks, a shoulder for engaging the edge of such plank and comprising: a frame having hooks adapted to be received by said member when said frame is inclined to said member and to be locked to said member when said frame is perpendicular to said member; holding means carried by said frame and arranged to cooperate with said member to hold said frame in such perpendicular position; and means for locking said holding means in holding position.
