GLOVE.

Be it known that I, HOWARD BIGnLow, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city and county of Kalamazoo, State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following isa specification.

rIhis invention relates to improvements in gloves.

rThe main object of this invention is to provide an improved glove which may be used in signaling or in work requiring illumination, and one which may be operated while the user is grasping an ob-ject.

Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, will definitely appear from the detailed description to follow.

I accomplish the objects of my invention by the devices and means described in the following specification. clearly defined and pointed out in the claim.

A structure which is a preferred embodiment of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this application, in which:

Fig.` II is an enlarged detail section through the first and second fingers of the glove illustrating the mounting of the circuit closing contact members thereon.

In the drawing similar reference charac'- ters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.

Referring to the drawing, the glove l is of the gauntlet type, a pocket 2 being provided on the sleeve portion thereof to receive the battery 3. In the back of the glove is a socket 4 for the bulb 5, the socket being mounted on a lining 6, while the bulb is disposed through an opening 7 in the back of the glove, the bulb only being exposed.

The invention is' These are connected in circuit with the kloattery and lamp by the wires 9. The contact members 8 are disposed in-oppos'ed relation on adjacent iingers,preferably the first and second lingers ofthe hand, Vas illustrated but normally out of alignment, that is, they are not 1n the same plane longitudinallyv of the lingers when the fingers are 1n normal f position, but are in the same `plane transversely of the fingers so that' they may be brought into engagement by a swinging movement lof the fingers While grasping an object.

My improved glove is well adapted for use in signaling as for a motor vehicle driver. It is also desirable for use in work that requires illumination, as the user may grasp an object in the usual way `.and a slight swinging movement of the` fingers will bring the contacts into engagement, so that it is unnecessary to release an object or lay down a package which one may be carrying; `for instance,`it may be used to illuminate a key-hole without laying down4 a package which may beheld inthe hand.

My improved glove is very convenient to use and is 'also simple and economical in structure. i

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: Y I

The combination with a glove, of 'a battery mounted on said glove, an electric lampy mounted on said glove, and a pair of contacts operatively connected to said battery and lamp and disposed on the facing sides of the adjacent fingers inthe same plane perpendicular to the extended fingers but in different planes parallel to the plane of the extended fingers, so that said contact fingers are normally out of contact but ymay be brought into contact by movement of the i lingersrelative to the plane of the extended fingers. t
