IMPROVEMENT IN SECURING KNOB-ROSES TO DOORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. [52,999, dated July 14,1874; application filed April 25, 1874.
1'0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES KEDEY, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in the Mode of Supporting the Rose-Plates of a Door or other Look, of which the following is a specification:
1n the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a vertical section, showing the mode of supporting the rose-plate of a mortise-lock. Fig. 2 shows a mortise-lock detached from the door, giving a side view thereof, showing the wood anchoring-bush confined between the plates of the lock.
Similar letters of reference indicate correspondin g parts.
The invention consists in supporting the roseplates of a door or other look by a wooden bush arranged within the lock-case, as hereinafter fully described.
A is the lock. B represents the door. 0 is the rose-plate; O, the rose. E is the anchorbox. F is the wooden bush; D, the fasteningscrew; H, the rose-socket. In Fig. 2 the bush is seen provided with the holes, so that a screw from each rose-plate may be inserted, or one from each side. There may be more than one bush-piece in the lock, so that two or more screws may be used if considered necessary, but for ordinary doors a spur, (Z, keeps the plate in place and answers all purposes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The wooden bush F inside a lock, substantially as and for the purposes described.
