CURTAIN AND pnArErrAN En.
Application filed August 11, 1923. Serial No; 656,895.-
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WALT R A. JnNsoH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Curtain and Drape Hangers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in drape hangers. An object is to provide a cheap, simple and durable curtain hook. Another object is to provide a hook which" when placed over a curtain rod is capable of supporting both drape and curtain from one element of the hanger.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, this invention consists of thefeatures of construction and combination and ar rangement of parts hereinafter more fully described and claimed, reference being made to the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a partial view in elevation of a window casing from which is hung a drape and curtains.
Fig. 2 is a partial section taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1.
Figs. 3 and i are views in elevation of two forms of the curtain hook. 1
Referring to the drawing in which similar reference characters refer to similar parts, a window casing 10 has mounted thereon by means of suitable brackets 11, a curtain rod 12; Over this curtain rod' are hung hooks 13, hereinafter more fully described, from which are suspended adrape 1 1 and curtains 15.
Fig. 3 shows one form of the improved curtain hook which consists of a semicircular bow 16 having downwardly converging portions 17 which are upwardly bent, as at 18, to form crotches 19 in which may be hung the curtain 15. The upwardly turned portions 20 are bent, as at 21, to form a second pair of crotches 22 which carry the drape 14:, the extensions 23 terminating in a point 24 used to pierce the curtain or The form of this invention shown in Fig. 41 consists of a semicircular bow16 which has only one downwardly bent portion 17, hav ing an upwardly bent extension similar to that form shown in Fig. 3, to provide the two crotches 19 and. 22.
From the above it is seen that a curtain hanger is provided having an arm with twocrotches in which may be hung two curtains or drapes, the distinct advantage being that both are separately held from the same hook on the same side of the curtain rod. Hangers with single or double arms as shown may be provided.
lVhat I claim is:
1. A curtain hook, consisting of a semicircular bow having a downwardly extending arm provided with a pointed upturned extension forming a crotch, said extension being bent to form a second crotch.
2. A curtain suspending device, consisting of two hooks which are joined, each hook having two crotches with each crotch capable of supporting a separate drape, the hooks being in the same plane.
3. A curtain hookcomprising a bow hav ing a downwardly extending arm, said arm having an extension turned upwardly forming a crotch, said extension having a portion turned downwardly and then upwardly forming a second crotch above the first mentioned crotch.
4.. A curtain hook comprising a bow having a downwardly extending arm, said arm having an extension turned upwardly form ing a crotch, said extension having a portion turned downwardly and then upwardly forming a second crotch above the first mentioned crotch, said crotches and bow being arranged in the same plane.
5. A curtain hook comprising a bow having downwardly extending arms, each of said arms having an extension turned upwardly forming a crotch, each of said extensions having a portion which is turned downwardly and then upwardly forming a second crotch above the first mentioned crotch.
6. A curtain hook comprising a bow having downwardly extending arms, each of said arms having an extension turned upwardly forming a crotch, each of said extensions having a portion which is turned downwardly and then upwardly forming a second crotch above the first mentioned crotch, all ofsaid crotches being arranged in the same plane. 1
7. A curtain hook comprising a single piece of wire bent in a single plane to provide a portion engageable upon a curtain rod, and a downwardly extending arm having an upturned extension forming a crotch, said extension having a portion which is bent downwardly and then upwardly forming a second crotch, said extension terminating in a sharpened point.
8. A curtain hook comprising a single piece of wire bent in a single plane to proride a portion engageable upon a curtain rod, and downwardly extending arms having upturned extenslons forming crotches,
ond crotch, each extension terminating in a sharpened point.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
