The stencil body is made flat on each side so that it may be traced around not only in normal position, but in a position reversed from normal when desired. n
The employment of a stencil body inaccordance with this invention materially lessens the work when positioning the latter for stenciling purposes.
lVhen using a stencil inaccordance with tion resting firmly against a Tequare.
This provides for the stencils to be set in a perpendicular position to'theT-square. and
then by pressing downwardly on the. projection or projections ofthestencils, they are held in position while asoftlead'pencilis used to tracearound them. In this case the stencil should be reversed or reading from .right to left. After the inscription has been completed the paper is taken and laid face downon the stone where composition has been previously applied. After rubbing the surface of the paper, the paper is removed I and the inscription has been transferred to the composition.
'VVhen using the stencils'for'lettering, a monument, which is to be by a pneumatic tool, they are tracedon a light piece of tracing paper in a manner as before stated, except that the stencils are placed to read from left to right. f x i l p I lNhen employed for show card work, the stencils may be traced in the manner as hereinbeforestated, but reading from left to right. TV hen the outline hasbeen completed, the letter canbe completed in any suitable manner, or in other words, the letter can be filled in in anymanner desired.
The preferred embodiment of the inven tion is that as described and shown, but it is obvious that changes in the details of v construction can be had without departing from the spirit of the inventionasclaimed.
