Description

Patented Nov. 18, 1924.
ATENT OFFICE.
CLOTHES-FEEDING DEVICE FOR WRINGERS.
Application filed March 3, 1924. Serial No. 696,645.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS BERGMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lyons Sta, Clinton, in the county of Clinton and State of Iowa, have invented new and useful Improvements in Clothes-Feeding Devices for VVringers, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is the provision of a device for feeding clothes from a washing machine between the rolls of a wringer, by the use of which the operator will obviate the liability of scalding by contact with the hot clothes, and also by the use of which the clothes may be accurately fed between the wringer rolls either from the front or side of the wringer, in a convenient manner without danger to the operator or to the wringer rolls.
The drawing which accompanies and forms part of this application, illustrates the improvement and wherein Figure 1 is a plan view of the improvement.
Figure 2 is a sectional view on the line 2--2 of Figure 1.
As disclosed by the drawing, the improve ment embodies a ring member 1 which is cent-rally formed with a peripheral flange 2. The flange is beveled outwardly from its juncture with the ring to its outer reduced edge, but its said edge is not sharpened. The ring is also formed, on its outer face, with a socket extension 3 into which the ends of the flange 2 merge, and in this socket there is secured a handle 4-. The handle is preferably of wood.
The handle is grasped by the operator so that her fingers are protected from contact with the heated water in the washing machine and likewise protected from like contact with the clothes to be wrung. The metal ring end of the improvement is brought beneath the clothes to be lifted to the wringer, and the flange 2 permits the clothes to be fed between the wringer rolls either from the front or side of the wringer. The cross sectionally V-shaped flange may enter between the rolls, but the ring 1 limits the movement in such direction.
Having described the invention, I claim A device for feeding clothes between the rolls of wringers, comprising a metal ring member having a central outstanding pcriplieral flange which is beveled outwardly from its uncture with the ring to its outer edge, a socket formed on the outer periphery of the ring and into which the ends of the flange merge, and a handle secured in the socket.
Tn testimony whereof I a'fiix my signature.
LOUIS BEEGMAN.
