CALIFORNIA CLOTHES STICK Application filed March 4,
The object of this invention is the provision of a stick that will permit a laundress picking up and feeding washed clothes into a wringcr without placing her hands in the hot water or have her hands directly contact with clothes.
A further object is the provision of a clothes feeder stick that has on its outer or active end a socket formed with an arched neck that merges into a ball head, the outer face of the head and the inner face of the neck being provided with teeth or-serrations to effectively engage with the clothes when the head and neck are brought against such clothes so that the clothes can easily and positively be engaged Without liability of injury thereto, and fed between the rollers of a Wringer, the ball head preventing the stick being caught in the Wringer.
The invention will be set forth in detail in the following description and illustrated by the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: I
Figure l is a side elevation of the improvement.
Figure 2 is a similar view with the improvement in section.
Figure 3 is a face view thereof.
The stick is indicated by the numeral 1, the same having arranged around its outer end a rubber or like compressible and nonpervious tube 2. The handle 2 permits of the stick being readily grasped and easily manipulated.
The outer end of the stick is received in a. metal socket 3 and is secured thereto by means 4. The socket has an outer arched neck portion 5 Whose end merges into a ball head 6. Both the neck and head are preferably solid and the inner face of the head as well as the inner or arched portion of the neck are formed with transverse substantially V-shaped grooves 8 defining therebetween ribs 9. The edges of the ribs are not sharpened nor pointed and, therefore, cannot inflict injury tothe clothes contacted thereby.
With a stick provided with a ball head and the arched neck connecting the head with the socket, steaming clothes may be readily gripped, elevated and directed between the form ribs,

rollers of the wringer Without necessitating the hands of the laundress being brought into contact with the heated clothes. The ball head is of a size to prevent the same entering between the rollers of the wringer and the simplicity of the construcof the neck being grooved transversely to provid ribs between said grooves.
2. A' clothes stick having an arched neck portion extending from one end thereof and. merges into a ball head andthe' which neck inner face of the head and the concaved face of the neck being grooved transversely to being non-pointed and non-sharpened.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
