SNAP-SWITCH MECHANISM.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, IRA R. SnL'rznR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waterbury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and use ful Improvement in Snap-Switch Mechanisms; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this appli-v cation, and represent, in-- Fig. 1 a view in side elevation of one form which my improved snap-switch mechanism may assume.

Iy invention relates to an improved switch-mechanism of the so-called' snapswitch type, such as are extensivelfr used for controlling electric-light circuitst small power-circuits such as vacuum-cleaner circuits, vibrator circuits, etc., the object being to simplify and improve the convenience of such switches, as well as to more readily in- ,dicate whether they are in their open or closed positions, or off or on.
With these ends in view, my invention con sists in certain details of construction and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
In carrying out my invention, as herein shown, I employ a. trigger-like, rocking opcrating-member 11 having its upper edge 12 serrated and located in a longitudinally-arranged slot 13 in an oblong, insulating switch-base 14, the upper face 15 of which.

The lower end of the part 23 is bent to form a hook- 27 coacting with a switch 28 to throw the same into its open, or off, position, as shown in Figure 5, and-into its closed, or on, position, as shown in Figure 6, the switch having a shanx 29 sliding hack and forth through a bearing-opening 30 in the arm 31 of the frame 19, and encircled by a spring 32, which throws the switch in one direction or the other, as it passes ts deadcenter with relation to the tongue 25 of the part 23.
