Description

J. PARISETTE.
- lceCream Freezer. N 0," 15,083. Patented June K], 1856.
STATES ATE Brion.
JOSEPH PARISETTE, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
ICE-CREAM FREEZER.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 15,083, dated June 10, 1.856.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OSEPH PARISETTE, of the city of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in IceCream Freezers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation thereof, reference being had to the annexed drawing of the same, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1, represents a vertical section; Fig. 2, a side elevation, with a portion of the ice tub broken off, showing a part of the cream holder; Fig. 3, represents a section in the line w, w, of Fig. 1, showing a plan of the cream holder, and drop catch in position to revolve the same; and Fig. 4, a section in the line 3 y, of Fig. 2, showing the position of the drop catch when it is desired to revolve the spiral scraper independent of the cream holder.
In the accompanying drawing, A, represents the ice tub; B, the shaft, to which is attached a spiral scraper D, supported by means of arms a, a; and C, the socket into which the shaft fits and revolves, as shown in Fig. l. 4
E, is a movable arm secured to the upper part of the shaft B, by means of a thumbscrew 6, and having at its extremity a drop catch 0, which strikes against and becomes locked with the cross bar 6, revolving the creamholder when the said arm is moved in the direction indicated by the arrow in Fig. 3; and d, is a lifting catch which prevents the revolution of the cream holder when it is desired to revolve the movable arm E, in the direction shown by the arrow in Fig. 4, by which motion the frozen cream is scraped off the inner sides of thecream holder G, and forced to the bottom of the same by means of the spiral scraper D, thereby causingthe unfrozen cream to rise to the top, which in turn will be perfectly mixed and equally frozen.
Near the upper end of the cream holder G, is attached a hoop f, having a space sufficient between its ends to admit the insertion of a lock piece h, (Fig. 2) rigidly secured to the cover K, the object of which is to prevent the cover from being revolved independent of the cream holder G, while it admits of the easy removal of the former. Near the bottom of the tube is secured a faucet or cock pin 9, for the purpose of drawing off the water formed by the melting of the ice.
I make the ice tub A, of good hard wood, in form of a churn, and of any required dimensions, with cross piece or beam L, on top and made fast to the tub at pleasure by iron hooks and thumb screws 2', 7c. The cream holder G, is placed in the center of the tub with shaft running through the beam L; and to said shaft is secured a crank M, for turning the same.
hat I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The spiral scraper (D) in combination with the drop catches (a and d) for the purpose of regulating the movement of the can and scraper in the relation to each other herein set forth, when arranged substantially in the manner described.
JOSEPH PARISETTE.
