To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Josnrn A. KUENZ, a citizen of the United'States', residing at the city and county of Jackson, State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in to s.

The main object of this invention is to provide an improved toy having a plurality of fi ures with movable parts which is very simple and economical in structure and may be operated by very small children.

Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, will definitely appear from the detailed description to follow.

I accomplish the objects of my invention by the devices and means described in the following specification. The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claim.

A structure which is a preferred embodiment of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this application, in which:

Fig. I is a plan view of my improved toy, a portion of the figures being shown by dotted lines only.

Fig. II is an enlarged view partially in vertical section on a line corresponding to line 22 of Fig. I.

Fig. III is a detail section through one of the figures on a line corresponding to line 3--3 of Fig. I.

Fig. IV is a plan view of one of the blanks from which the head is formed.

Fig. V is a plan view of one of the body blanks.

In the drawing similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the. several views and the sectional views are taken looking in the direction of the little arrows at the ends of the section lines.

Referring to the drawing, the figures illustrated represent chickens, although these may be varied, as desired.

My improved toy comprises a supporting plate 1 provided for convenience in manipulation with a handle 2. The weight is connected to the heads at the rear of their pivots by cords 8 passed throughthe holes 3, so that the heads are held normally erect by the weight, but when the weight is swung to loosen the cords the heads fall to thereof. The stampings are suitably conformed and brought together in pairs with the tongues 10 in opposed relation, the washers or perforated coupling members 11 being arranged over the coact-ing pairs of tongues and secured by folding the tongues down upon the same. The heads 5 are similarly formed of stampings 12 provided with ton cs 10 corresponding to those of the body. The head members 12 are provided with holes 13 to receive the pivots 14 formed integrally with the body members,-see Fig. V. The parts thus formed are very economical to produce and assemble.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

In a toy, the combination of a body comprising a pair of complementa sheet metal stamplngs disposed edge to e ge and having outwardly projecting tongues on the edges thereof, the tongues of the members being side by side when the members are in assembled relation, and perforated coupling members arranged over the coacting pairs of tongues, the outer ends of said tongues being folded over said coupling members.
