Be it known that I, Monizrs VioToRsoHN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have inventedc'ertain new and useful Improvements in Motor Reset-l ters, of which the following is a full, clear,
and exact specification.
This invention relates to motor resetters for rewinding or resetting mechanical motors of the type disclosed in my pending application filed April 17, 1922, Ser. No;
The object of this invention is to provide for varying the throw of the weighted arm of the motor by the resetting device, whereby said motor and resetter may be adapted for use in casings of different sizes. Other objects will appear as the description proceeds.
The invention will be first hereinafter described in connection with the accompanying drawings, which constitute part of this specification, and then more specifically defined in the claims at the end of the description.
In the accompanying drawings, wherein similar reference characters are used to designate corresponding parts throughout the several views z- Figure 1 is a broken side elevation of a motor and resetting device constructed in accordance with this invention.

In Figure 1 the mechanism of the motor and resetter are shown mounted in a casing 1 having a slot 2 .in its top and a shaft 3 journaled therein. Inasmuch as the details of the motor and resetter are fully disclosed in my pending application hereinbefore mentioned, they will be described here only in general.
The motor consists of a rotary member actuated by a weight which falls by gravity and turns said rotary member, the motion of which may be transmitted to mechanism to be driven, such as the turntable of a phonograph, through a train of gears. The rotary member is here shown as mounted on the shaft 3 and as including a gear 4 and a ratchet disk having teeth 6, said disk being rotatable with said gear 4. One of the train of gears for transmitting motion to mechanlsm to be driven 1s mdicated at 5.
The weight ll is mounted' on an arm 8 adapted to rotate about the axis of the gear 4, said arm being pivoted at '9 to a plate 10 having such rotarymovement. The inher end of saidarm 'has'a tooth 7 adapted to engage any one of the teeth 6 on the ratchet disk of the motor when said arm is swung downward by the weight.
A segmental gear 14 is also adapted to rotate with the motor gear 4 and has a radially extending arm 13 on an extension 20 thereof, said arm 13 extending below the weighted arm 8 and being connected thereto by a link 12, so that rotation of the segmental gear 14 from right to left or anticlockwise will, raise said weighted arm through the instrumentality of said'arm 13 and link 12, the latter being pivotally attached at 17 and 18, respectively, to said arms 13 and 8. In order to regulate the throw of said weighted arm in resetting the motor, so that the swing of said arm may be accommodated within casings of different sizes, the arm 13 and link 12 may either or both be made extensible as shown.
Said arm 13, for instance, may comprise I telescoping sections 19 and 31, the latter 86 having a socket to receive the former. Slots 22 may be formed in the walls of said socket in the member or section 31, and a bolt 27 may be passed through said section 19 and the slots 22 of the sections 31 for adjust- 90 which a bolt 27 attached to the section 25 extend for, adjustably securing said sections together.
