Description

D. PASKE ERIAL STANDARD Filed Aug. 23. 1923 A TTOR NE Y Patented July 8, 1924.
DELMAR. rasxn, or NEWFANE, NEW Yonx.
' .mam STANDARD.
Application med August 23, 1923. serial No. esaass.
To all/whom it may concem:
Be it known that I, DELMAR PAsKE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newfane, in the county of Niagara and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Aerial Standards, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in' standards especially adapted for supporting radio and wireless telegraph aerials and has for its object to provide a "standard of this character composed of separable sections which may be easily knocked-down and conveniently transported from place to place.
A further object of the invention is the provision of novel means for' securely supporting the standard erect under normal conditions.
A further object vof the invention is,to provide a device of the above-mentioned character which is simple and durable inconstructlon, composed of a few parts, and' inexpensive to manufacture.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent during the course of the following description;
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals are employed Hto designate like parts throughout the same,
Fig. 1, is a perspective view of my improved standard in use,
Fig, 2, is a fragmentary longitudinal sectionall view of .the same, and, v
Fig. 3, is a detail perspective view of the joint.
In the drawing, wherein for the purpose of illustration I have shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, theyv numeral 4 represents generally the posed of a plurality o sections 5, constructed of wood or metal, and coupled tofgether by tenon and socket joints `6. Each section has a socket 7 to receive the tenon 8 formed on the abutting end of the adjoining section and a bolt 9` extends transversely through the socket and tenon securely fastening the joint together. The top section 10 is e uipped With a knob'11 in lace -of the so et, from which the aeria 12 is ost which is com-y suspended through the medium of 13 swiveled to the knob.
When assembled, the post is supported from the ground or roof of a building by the base member 14, consisting of the clamping members 15 and 16 curved to provide a socket to receive thelower end of the pole, said members having angular extensions 17, by means of which the base member is secured to the roof.
Midway the length of the pole a circular plate 18 is clamped between one of the joints 6 and has a. series of op'enings 19 adjacent its outer periphery from which a plurality the pulley ofguy wires extend to suitable anchoring means 21, distant from the post. This provides bracing means for holding the pole erect under all conditions.
Thus, it is seen that if it is desired to remove the pole, the sections may be easily and quickly knocked-down and packed in a small bundle, so as to be conveniently transported from place to place.
It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the same, and that certain changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.
Having thus fully described'my invention, i
-what I claim is 1'. A standard of the character described composed of sections, socket and tenon joints sions for securing said member to a, base.
2. A standard of the character described composedaof sections, socket and tenon joints .connecting said sections, a plate fitted over the tenon of one of the joints and clamped between the adjoining sections, brace wires extending from said plate and base means to receivethe lower end of the standard.
In testimony whereof I aflix my Signature.
