GAME.
Application filed September 24, 1923. sum as. m me.
To all whom z't may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEX L. ZANDER, a citizen of the UnitedStates, residin at St. Paul, in the county of Ramsey and tate of Minnesota, have invented a new and useful Game, of which the following is a specification. j
My invention relates to improvements in games.
Its object is to provide a gamethat is interesting to children and to adults and one that is instructive to children learning to count. A further. object is to supply a game'of the present nature entailing lmited and inexpensive equipment, the method of play being quickly and easily grasped.
With the foregoing and other obiects in view, which will appear in the fo lowing description, the invention resides in thenovel combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawin Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a recording board and Fig. 2 is a pers ective view of an indicator, the two mem ers constituting a game embodying my invention. I
Referringto the drawings, the principal elements of the device are shown namely, a peg receiving or recording board A, pegs b for said board and a spinner C or equivalent indicator such as dice.
Theboard A, illustrated in the drawin comprises a card board sheet d'formed wit holes e therein, the margins d of said sheet turned down and fitted closel within the sides and against one end of a box-tray "f. The compartment 9 formed in said tra between one end of the sheet (1 and the a jacent end of the tray f provides a packing space for the pegs d, a cover (not shown) of ably a numeral, bein associated with each set of laterally relate divisions h. v
- While I have shown an ordinary spinner C consisting of a base I: and -a pointer m revoluble thereon, it will be understood that any suitable indicator may be employed that is capable of indicating, by chance, one of several indicium upon each operation. On
the base is of the spinner Cand beneath the i Y path of .the ointer head m a pear indicia z" corres on mg with the indicla i on the recording oard The marker p the holes e, but 0 y one peg is used, for each set of laterally related holes-e. In pla one row of holes e in the recording boar A is assigned to each player. The players, in turn, '0 crate the indicator 0. Accordin to each etermination of the indicator, t e player records .his play by inserting a g b in his row of holes and. in the particular hole in the set designated by the pointer. Only one hole in each set can be pegged, but any player may take an" 'opponents peg-and mark his own play therewith, 'when it happens that he is entitled, by a turn of the ointer m, to peg into the same set of holes t eretofore pegged b an opponent. The play continues until eac seat of holes is pegged. Each player then computes his score b desi ating the di erent sets of holes mar ed by his pegs, the highest scoring player being the wmner. If indicia other than numerals are employed, the player ret-ainin the greatest number of pegs is regarde as the winner. a The relatively inexpensive equipment required coupled with the ease of play and the ordinary construction bein preferably suping holes in each row are divisions or areas, .mg p
re ated sets, a sm'gle marker pln comm n to as at h, an identifying indicium z', preferfascinating conditions brought about, by
chance, in playing are outstanding features of my gamlng device. p
Chan es in the specific form of my inven- -05 b are. interchangeable in adding the numbers tion, as erein disc osed, may be made with.-
in the scope of what is claimed without departing from the sgirit of my invention.
Having describe my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. In a game, aboard having rows of peg receiving holes therein, the correspondholes in said rows comprising laterally v the holes of each set, a distinctive indicium for each of said sets of holes and an indicator bearing the indicia appearing on the record board and adapted upon each .play 5 to designate, by chance, one of said indicia.
2. In a game, a recording board having a lurality of divisions arranged in rows, the lvlsions 1n one row being laterally co-related with corresponding divisions in the adjacent row, differing indicia for eaohset' 10
