JOHN A. HOLZAIPF-EL, or JACKSON, ICHI AN.
"WRINGER non Anon'on-norns;
To all whom it may concern. o Be it known that L'JOHNLAMJHOLZAPEEL, a citizen of the United States, residingat the city and county of Jackson, Stiateof 6 Mlchigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wringejrsffor; Anchor Ropes, of which the following isa specification. 3 l
This invention relates.toi nprovements in; g I
' 1 preferably in the form of anl-integralcast-, mg .and the pulley block preferably has an wringers ,for anchor ropes.
The main .object of the provide ,an improved wri-nger for. anchor ropes whlch Qefl'ectwely removes the surplus Water therefrom as the ,ropeis hauled .into

of the pulley block is detachably engageable with this base "plate 20. However, the details of such engagement form no part of this'invention and are, therefore, not/described herein. v
The pulley block base plate 21 has a fixed side plate 22 anda pivoted side plate 23. The pivoted side plate 23 is pivoted to the top of the fixed side plate 22, a staple 24 being carried by the fixed side plate and adapted to pass through a hole 25 on the pivoted'side plate's'o that a lock may be engaged in the staple'forsecuring the pivoted a side plate.
. he wringer pulley 26 is mounted on a fixed stud 27 carried by the fixed side plate.
A coacting wringer fpulley 28 is provided with i a "floating spindle 29 which engages the slots 30 and 31 in thesi'deplates. These slots are inclined so that, asthe spindle 29 is moved in the slots, the pulley 28'is' carried to and'from thecoacting .pulley 27 to' openand close the'w'r'inger upon] the rope 5. An actuatingtpulley 32 issupported by thejournal or spindle 33. in the slo'ts34 and-'35 ofthe side plates. The slots 34and 35 are at an angle tothe slots 30 and 31,
The spindles '29 and '33 are connected by linksf36 so that, as the actuatingpulley is moved rearwardly-by a hauling pull on the.frope, the movable wringer-pulley is moved, towards its coacting wringer pulley.
My improved frope wringer is simple in structure and at the same time is very efii cientQ t i V I haveillustrated' and described my improvements in several embodiments or adaptations which will I believe enablethose skilled in the art towhich my invention resaidfixed wringerpulleyand under said actuating pulley will; force said movable wringer pulley downwardly toward. said fixed wringer pulley.
