IMPROVEMENT IN BlLLlARD-TABLE LEVELERS.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LYMAN A. HUNT, of North Adams, in the county of Berkshire-and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Leveling-Foot for Billiard and other Tables, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of an inverted metal cup resting on the floor, with an oval-headed screw screwing up and down in a hole in the vertical axis of said cup, and carrying on its head a disk on which the table-leg rests, said disk having a socket in the center of the under side, in which the head of the screw fits to keep said disk from jarring off. Each leg being provided with a foot, the screws are turned either way, as required, by a wrench applied to the head to raise'or lower the table, and thus adjust it most accurately with but very little labor, and in a short time.
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of my improved leveling-foot for tables, and Fig. 2 is a plan of it.

A represents the invertedimetal cup, which rests on the floor. B is the screw, which is fitted in a hole in the vertical axis of the cup to screw up and down by a wrench applied to its head 0. D is the disk, of metal, resting at its center on the head of the screw, and supporting the leg E of the table on it. A cavity is formed in the center of the plate for the head of the screw to fit in, so that the plate will not jar off.
This improved adjustable foot is very simple and cheap to construct, and as simple to adjust. Any one can level a table with a set of them, and thus save the cost and delay of sending for a mechanic, which is now the common practice among billiard proprietors for want of a satisfactory means of adjusting the tables.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A leveling-foot for billiard and other tables consisting of the inverted metal cup A, adjusting-screw B, and plate D, combined and arranged substantially as specified.
