COLLAR BUTTON AND NEQKTIE HOLDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SALVADOR AGUILAR SULEoIo,a citizen of Guatemala, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented a new and useful Collar Button and Necktie Holder, of which the following is a specification, in such full and clear terms as will enable those skilled in the art to construct and use the same.

This invention relates to a collar button and necktie holder and its object is to produce a device upon which a necktie may be formed into a knot and which will permit the tie to'remain tied and be placed in position for use and removed therefrom at will without having to repeatedly form the knot thereby extending the wear on the tie.

Another object of the invention is to produce a frame for forming the tie which will be sufficiently rigid to permit the knot to be nicely and tightly tied thereon without bending the frame out of the shape it should occupy to hold the knot in the proper form.

Another object of the invention is to provide the holder with means for connecting it to the collar in such a manner as to prevent it from dropping the necktie and which means is capable of being used either with the form of collarbutton especially adapted to it or with the ordinary form of collar button having a round head with a round shank such as collar buttons that are in common use.

Another object of the invention is to produce a device for holding the collar end tabs together in such a manner as to more effec tually secure the necktie holder in place and to hold the ends of the collar more neatly together than would be the case where the necktie and this holder is applied to the collar without some means of holding the collar ends under the tie.

- Another object of the invention is to provide a different shaped holder which can be used with very small neckties when necessary and which holder is substantially the same in construction as the larger holder.

An object of the tie holder is to enable the tie to be used without being tied and untied every time it is to be put on or taken off.

Another object of the invention is to provide a small sized tie holder which can be used in conjunction with small bow ties in a similar way to the larger holder.

Another object of the invention is to produce a collar which will have forwardly projecting wings which, will give it an en tirely different appearance not obtained in the ordinary forms of collars.

The collar used is an ordinary form of turned-down collar illustrated at Figure 1 but which inthis case has ou't turned flaps 2' and 3. The necktie holding frame consists of a single piece of wire twisted upon itself as indicated at 4 to produce a trans verse bar, the ends of the wire being curved outwardly and upwardly as indicatedat 5 and'6 to be inserted between the inner .and outer layers of the collar.

The necktie 11 is tied over the frame to form a well designed knot with the hook 9 exposed and when so formed the tie remains in that shape until-worn out or discolored.

It is in-use pushed "up' with the horns andfi between the layers of the'collar and with the hook 9 either hooked into the outer loop 12 of the collar button 13 or with the ring pushed ov'er'the shank of an ordinary-collar button. The collar button 13' consistsof a single length of'wire wound to have an hexangular base portion 15 while from said base portion the'remaining part of the wire is extended therefrom and reversely-bent to provide a plurality of short open-loops 16. This collar button is then inserted in the collar in the manner illustrated in-Figure" 6 and it "has openings for both of the shirt thicknesses, both of the collar thicknesses and a loop 12 for the hook 9. ' This form also has a hook at'22' the same as" the hook 9v to enable'it' to be applied to the form of collar button shown in Figure 4 if that is desired. Sometimes it may happen thatthe ends of tliecollar do not stand close enough together, by applying the clamp shown in Figure 9 to the ends of the collarcorners the collar ends will be held close together. This clamp consists of a singlepiece of wire bentinto two U-shaped forms 25,26 and connected together with two' transverse bars at the top'. This clamp is usable only where the collar ends stand figures except that it is made upon a much with fourv projecting horns 31 to 3 1 inclusive. It is also provided with a hook and loop 35-which enables it to be fastened to the collar button'shown in Figure 4 or to be fastened to the ordinary form of collar "button with round head. 7

The collar button used in conjunction with this necktie holder is made of a'single piece of wire and whileit has no head at the same time its special crimpedform: presents vfive receptacles or places in which shirtband and collar band may be held while at the same time it has a loop for the hook on the'necktie holder. i

It will be understood that most" persons wear shirts that open in front so that there are two thicknesses of shirt band as well as two thicknesses of collar band to be pro 1. A wearing apparel apparatus comprising a frame for forming a necktie knot, said frame having a hook at one end and a pair of laterally projecting arms at the other end, and a collar button having an open slot to receive the hook on the frame.

2. An apparatus of the class described comprising a triangular shaped frame having a hook at one apex of the triangle and having projecting arms at each other apex, and a button having a slot therein to .cooperate with the hook to holdthe necktie in place on the collar.

3. An apparatus of the class described comprising a necktie frame having a pair of arms to engage a collar at one end, and having a double hook at the other end with a retaining button having a loop to engage one of said hooks and having other open loops to engage and hold the several parts of the shirt and collar;
