Be it known that I, EMIL Din'rz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the countyy of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and use-ful Improvements in Warehouse Trucks, of which the following is a speciiication.

My said invention relates to a warehouse truck and the specific improvement is directed to a corner iron for such trucks. It is `an object of my invention to provide a truck which shall be of very rsimple design but strong and well adapted for its purpose.

A further obiect of the invention is to provide a bracket which shall be adapted without change or modification of structure to support either a loose standard or a fixed standard for the truck.

Referring to the accompanying drawings which are made a part hereof and on which similar reference characters indicate similar parts,

In the drawings reference character 10 indicates the swivel board of a truck of well-known type, said truck being provided with side rails 11 and end rails 12, the side rail 11 here being shown as having a mortise engaged by a tenon on the end rail. An inner corner iron 13 preferably extending through the swivel board to the top of the rails is secured by bolts 14 and 15 to the side and end rails respectively, these bolts extending also through adjacent parts of the outer bracket for holding the same. It will be understood that there may be two or more in each set of bolts. Obviously also the brackets may be attached at the side of the truck as in lumber trucks, the swivel board may be omitted and other changes may be made in a manner obvious or customary in the art.

An outer corner iron 16 has extensions in each direction from the'corner to enga e the side and end rails, said extensions eing held in place by the bolts 14 and 15. The

tenon to form a recess to receive one side'V of a socket in the iron adapted to receive a loose standard 17, this standard in the modification of Figure l resting on a projecting part of the swivel board 10. It will be seen that the side of the socket adjacent the end rail fits closely between the side rail 11 and a shoulder on the end rail to assist in making a strong and rigid interlocking corner for the truck. Registering holes may be provided in the parts kto receive a bolt 18 in case it is found desirable t0 use fixed standards, and a single bolt is enough to hold the standard securely in place.

In the modification of Figures 3, 4 and 5 the parts are generally similar rto what has heretofore been described, the size of the end and side rails being such, however, that their edges correspond to the edges of-the swivel board. Under such conditions the Y swivel board cannot be depended on to support standard 17 at its lower end and therefore I have shown in these figures a ledge 19 on the outer corner bracket extending across the lower end of the socket and providing a support for the standard.

While I have shown and described preferred forms of my invention various changes of form and structure will be obvious to those skilled in the art and therefore I do not limit myself to what is shown in the drawings and described in the speciiication but only as indicated in the appended claims.

Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. In a truck, a swivel board, side and end rails secured thereto, inner and outer corner irons for securing the rails together at the corners of the truck, bolts passing respectively through one of said rails and both of said irons to hold the parts in place said outer iron having a socket for a standard and said swivel board extending beneath the socket to support the standard, substantially as set forth.

4.
