IMPROVEMENT IN REVOLVING SWINGS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 148,89 1, dated March 24, 1874; application filed December 29, 1873.

To all whomit may concern:

Be it knownthat we, WILLIAM A. LoWEnY, JOHN A. J. Lownnv, and WILLIAM W. Low- ERY, of Salem, in the county of Washington and State of Indiana, have invented a new and Improved Revolving Swing, of which the following is a specification:

The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.

Figure l is a sectional elevation of our improved revolving swing, taken on the line am. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken on the line 3 3 Fig. 1.

A represents the post or shaft at the axis of the swing-seats B, which are carried by arms G, which we attach permanently to the shaft; and we arrange the shaft in a step, D, at the bottom, and a bearing, E, at the top, to be revolved for carrying the seats around. The guys F or braces, for supporting the outer ends of the arms,we connect by hooks and eyes, or

in any other suitable way, at the upper end, with the top of the shaft by a cap or ring, to revolve with the shaft, thus connecting the arms and guys to the shaft, so that we can revolve it by horse-power, which we connect by a sweep, H, below the arms.

Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The hook-and-link flexible connections I, in combination with the arms 0 and post A, to hold always in their true relative position, ii the manner described.
