To all whom t may concern.

Be it known that I, CHARLES B. SLADE, a citizen of the United States of America, anda resident of the city, county, and State ofNew York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Prompt lreatment Kits, of which the following is a desori tion.

y invention relates to a kit adapted to hold conveniently pill boxes or like small articles.

The primary and essential features .of which are, briefly, a kit box, to hold several different remedies or medicines, "with a :separate compartment for each remedy; each and every one of these compartments having a separate and distinct exterior cover or door, soarranged and labeled that when a particular remedy is sought, only that remedy is exposed; so that the possibility of confusion, or taking the wrong medicine by accident is eliminated, making it, to this extent, error-proof.

, Further objects and advantages of my invention will be apparent ,from the "following spechication taken with the accompanying drawing which Figure 1 is a perspective view of .a device accordingto my invention.

Figure 2 is a perspective view of :my said device looking in the opposite direction from Figure 1, parts beingbroken away for purpose of illustration.

In the: drawing, 1 ,is a base of wood or other rigid and relatively heavy material which helps 'to maintain the stabilitypf the complete article as well as to protect and help hold together the lighter .parts comprising the remainder. and .major portion-of the article.

Above base 1 are three paste-board or like boxes indicated on the drawing .by 2, .3 and 4, respectively arranged with their major dimensions perpendicular to base .1 so that they normally stand .on'their ends. Box 2 has a width equal to- .that of base 1 and opens outwardly from the base, one edge of box 2 being .even with one .of the outer edges of the base 1.

2 by means of fasteners which. may be of any convenient type, those illustrated being of the ordinary glove fastener type. Due to the flexibility. of thematerial .of piece 10 the flaps for the various boxes may be readily lifted as indicated in dotted lines in Figure 1.

2, 3, 4 or 9 may be filled with cardboard as indicated at 11 in box 2 to prevent pill-box 12 or similar articles which may be placed in the kit from dropping down too far to prevent their ready removal.

2, 3, and 4c, the .sides oft-he space 9 and bottom of base 1, are covered by paper or similar terial in imitation of leather.

Preferably the flaps 2 etc. bear approximate legends indicating the article Or material to be kept in the various spaces or receptacles of the kit. The device being particularly well adapted for storing medicines, I have illustrated the flaps as bearing the names 13 of common ailments for which remedies are ordinarily kept in the average household.

Referring again to the means by which flaps 2 3 4 and 9 are held over the mouths of the boxes and over space 9, I have illustrated this means as comprising knobs 5 carried on hand 5, and sockets 2 3", 4 and 9*, carried on flaps 2 3 4 and 9 respectively and adapted to snap over thecorresponding knobs. on hand 5.

It is evident that a kit according to my invention is not only highlyuseful in the average household but is also well adapted to the needs of the average practicing physician orpharmacist.

While I have described above in detail a given form of device according to my invention, I do not wish to be limited to details of my disclosure herein, except in so far as such details are essential to the noveltv of the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention I I claim 1. A multi-pocketkit comprising in combination a relatively large box, a relatively small box having one side held against what .is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction at right angles tothat 1n WhlCh said larger box opens, a

second relatively small box also abutting aga-inst said large box but facing in the direction opposite fromsaid first small box, pieces fastened across the ends of said boxes, a band around said boxes at their one ends, flapsiihinged to said boxes at their other ends. and means wherebysaid flaps may be releasably fastened over the openings of said boxes.

A second relatively small box abutting against said large box-but facing in the direction away from said first small box and spaced therefrom, pieces fastened across and covering the ends of said boxes, a band around said boxes at their one ends, four flaps hinged to said boxes at their other ends and means whereby said flaps may be releasably fastened over the openings of said boxes.

3. A multi-pocket kit comprising in coinbination a relatively large box, a relatively small box having one side abutting against what is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction at right angles to that in which said large box opens, a second relatively small box also abutting against said large box and opening outwardly, a cover piece fastened across the base fastened across the other ends of said boxes, a band around said base and boxes at the base end thereof, flaps hinged to said boxes at the ends opposite said base, and adapted to cover the openings of said boxes and means on said band adapted to assist in releasably fastening said flaps over the openings of said boxes. A multi-pocket kit comprising in combination a relatively large box, a relatively small box, having one side abutting against What is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction at right angles to that in which said larger box opens, a second relatively small box also abutting against said large box but spaced from said first mentioned small box and opening in the opposite directiontherefrom, pieces fastened across the one ends'of said boxes, a relatively heavy base fastened across the other ends of said boxes, a reinforcing band fastened around said base and said boxes at their base ends, four flaps hinged to said boxes at their ends opposite said base and means whereby said flaps may be releasably fastened over the openings of said boxes. 5. A multi-pocket kit comprising in combination a relatively large box, a relatively small box having one side abutting against what is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction atri'ght angles to that in which said larger box opens, a second relatively small box also abutting against said large box but spaced from said first mentioned small box and opening away from it, a piece fastened across the one ends of said boxes, a relatively heavy base fastened across the other ends of' said boxes, a reinforcing band fastened around said base and around said boxes at their base ends, a second piece fastened above said piece at'the ends of the boxes opposite the base, four flaps hinged to said last mentioned pieceIand adapted to cover the openings of said boxes and said space and means whereby said flap til may be releasably fastened to said reinforcing band.

6. A multi-compartment kit comprising in combination a square base, a plurality of boxes standing on end on said base and opemng outwardly, said boxes being fastened to said base, a reinforcing band around said base and around the base ends of said boxes, means in addition to said base for fastening said boxes together, flaps hinged at the end of the kit opposite said base and adapted to cover the openings of said boxes and fastening means carried at least in part on said band for releasably holding said flaps to close said boxes.

8. A multi-pocket kit comprising in combination a relatively large box, a relatively small box, having one side held against what is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction at right angles.

A mu iii-pocket kit comprising in combination a relatively large box, a relatively small box having one side thereof held against what is ordinarily the bottom of said large box and opening in a direction at right angles to that in which said larger box opens, a second relatively small box also held against said large box, said second small box being spaced from the said first mentioned small box and facin in the opposite direction therefrom, a band around said boxes at their one ends, four flaps hinged to said boxes at their other ends and means whereby said flaps may be releasably fastened over the openings of said boxes and over the space between said small box.
