In a file holder7 the combination o'f-a receptacle adapted to contain vertically disosed files7 a rod extending transversely of said tiles at o-ne end thereof, and a {ile-hold- `ing member consisting of a springwire shaped at one end to provide a relatively large vertically disposed loop `adapted to engage the outermost file and providedfat its other` end with a coil comprising 'convolutions spaced apart a' distance greater 'than the diameter or said rod and embracing said i rod whereby said member is pivotally supported on said rod, said coil being self-lock ing on the rod under lateral pressure exerted upon the member in onedirection and ldev tachable fromthe rod when angled rela tively thereto. l a l 2.
