To all whom it may comem: I ,/Be it known that I, CARL BEGKMANN, a citizen of Germany, and resident of New York city, in the county of New York and a State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corn l'Plasters, of which the following is a specification.

' My invention relates to improvements in the class of corn plasters comprising an apertured pad contaimng medicament. and means to retain the pad upon the corn.-

An object of my invention is to protect the medicament in the pad'from ready access 18 of dust, moisture. and the atmosphere to retain the medicament clean, sanitary and from the effects of moisture.

A further object of my invention is to protect the wearing surface of the pad from dirt and moisture and to retain said surface sanitary and in proper condition for use.

My invention comprise'snovel details of improvements and combinations of arts 26 that will be more fully hereinafter set orth and then pointed out in the claims.

The pad may be of felt or other material suitable for the purpose as well known, and its wearing surface ma be provided with an, adhesive material to st1ck to the corn as well known.

having. one or both surfaces waxed or paraffined to exclude dirt andmoisture from the pad and medicament. An adhesive tape is indicated at l, which extends alon the surface of the impervious strip 3 an? over the pad, sa d tape adhering to said strip and pad .to retain the parts together ready for use.

I preferably apply to the wearing or adhes ve surface of t e pad a protecting layer of 1mperv1ous material 5, which may comprlse paper waxed or paraflined which will adhere to the adhesive surface of the pad to protect the same from dirt and moisture and render it sanitary. Said protecting layer 5 may be aperturedo sing the medicament 2 in the pad, as in i 1, 2 and 3 or may be non-perforate as in icated in Figs. 6 and 7. Sa1d layer 5 in Figs. 1 and 2 is retained against the impervious material 3 whereby said layer and the medicament are protected.

The material 3 and 6 may be of suitable length and width respecting the pad to protect it, and-the tape 4 may be of suitable length, preferably extending on opposite sides of the pad, to be attached to the users toe when the pad is a plied over the corn with the medicament t ereover. The parts as set forth are assembled for shipment and sale. When the plaster is to be used the protecting strip 3 or 6 is removed from the ta e and pad, and the latter are applied over the toe and corn after the layer 5 has been removed from the pad. The pad and medicament will be in a clean, fresh and sanitary condition for application to the corn.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1.
