Description

Patented Nov. 27, 1923.
JOHN H. ANTHON, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
GAME.
Application filed April 13, 1922.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN H. AN'rnoN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Game, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in games wherein a set or series of tokens each has a punched out portion fitting and matching therewith, the successive punched out portions being gradually decreased in size whereby each punched out portion will it and match with its respective token only.
The primary object of the present inven tion is to provide a new and improved game for selecting partners between a plurality of members of both sexes.
Another object of the invention to pro vide means whereby partners for any venture may be incidentally selected.
I accomplish these and other objects by means of the devices disclosed in the drawings forming a part of the present specifica- 25 tion wherein like characters of reference are used to designate similar parts throughout the said specification and drawings, and in which:
Figs. 1 to 8 inclusive, disclose a set of tokens and their matching punched out portions of successively decreasing size.
Referring to the drawings the numeral 1 is used to designate one of a series of tokens of suitable material preferably provided with an eyelet 2 by means of which the same may be suspended from the neck or attached to the person. Each token 1 has a punched out portion 3 removed therefrom and likewise preferably provided with a suitable eyelet 4 for suspension or securing purposes.
The punched out portion 3 of each token 1, being punched out, naturally fits and matches with the aperture 5 from which it is punched, so that it may be easily replaced within said aperture 5.
The punched out portions 3 of successive tokens are gradually decreased in size so that each portion 3 will fit and match with its respective token 1 only and while a smaller portion 3 will fit into a larger aper- Serial No. 552,1805.
ture 5 of another token 1 there will be a certain amount of clearance between said unmatched portion 3 and said token 1 so that it will be clearly and obviously indicated that said portion 3 does not belong to said token 1.
In the game of incidentally selecting. partners of the same or opposite sexes, for any venture, game or project where partners are required, the tokens and their punched out portions 3 are separated and said tokens 1 are distributed to one party while the punched out portions 3 are distributed to another party.
An individual with a punched out portion 3, or a token 1, will then seek out the person having a token 1, or punched out portion 3, which will properly match with and fit his or her portion 3, or token 1. When found, such persons having matching and fitting tokens and portions Will be partners for the proposed venture.
While it is obvious that there are limits to the number of portions of the same shape which may be punched from a set of tokens it is also obvious that other shapes may be used and thereby provide an unlimited number of tokens. Where various shapes are used it would provide greater amusement and the task of finding ones partners would be increased where one would first be required to find the required shape of the punched out portion and then find a token of the desired shape and size. Therefore,
the shape of the punched out portion need not be restricted to any particular shape, but the shapes may be easily varied.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A game comprising a set of tokens, each having a second token punched therefrom, each successive second token being slightly smaller in size whereby it will fit only its respective first token, each of said first and second tokens being provided with an eyelet whereby said tokens may be suspended.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my signature.
JOHN H. ANTI-ION.
