Definitions

  • This invention relate to a mechanical press for the manufacture of horseshoes orother articles and provides a press that is simple to construct and capable of exercising great pressure and in which the movable pressure face travels in true parallel. Backlash and excessive wear are reduced to a minimum in the members which take thecompression load by so'constructing the apparatus that the sliding action on the hearing surfaces isvery small while the bearing area is very large.
  • the improved press difiers essentially as regarcs its design and construction from standard practice, as it does also in the selection and placement of the principal mem bers or parts by and through which the pressure is exercised.
