Be it known that I, ALFRED G. F. KURO\V' SKI, a itizen of the United States, residing ments in Typewriting Machines, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to collating tables for typewriters, and is a division of co-pending application, Serial No. 322,630, filed Se tember 9, 1919.
This device is illustrated as applied to a typewriter, more particularly a typewriter havin a shiftable platen, as in the abovenamec co-pending application, but it will be apparent from the description that the table may be applied to any typewriter.
The device comprises acollating table, and is provided with members slidable thereon and forming side and end-gages. The table is also provided with a reinforcing strip running lengthwise along its rear face. Slidable members are provided with portions embracing the topof the table and the reinforcing strip in the rear, the strip acting as a guide preventing longitudinal movement, or movement away from the back of the table. The slidable members are provided also with cam spring-clips adapted to clamp the members iniposition or release them for lateral movement.-

which is journaled in the ends 12 and 13 of thefshift-framewhich may be carried in part by the usual arms 14. A record-sheet 15 may be inserted around the platen 10 by carrying it up from the rear, so that it engages pressure rolls l6 and 17. Theplaten may be rotated by the usual finger-wheel 20,
or line-space lever 21, to advance the record sheet past the printing point, indicated diagrammatically by the type-bar 22, and upwardly. Before the record-sheet 15 reaches the top of the platen it is guided beneath fingers 23 having slightly out-turned ends 24.- to catch the end of the record-sheet, the fingers'being resilient and supported on collating table 25, which stands above the platen. To give the outer ends of the fingers a little extra stiffness, one margin may have a. narrow turned-up edge 26 (Figure 3), which diminishes toward the outer end,
