The object of my invention is to provide a. novel form ot slubcatcher having a yarn clearing hole which will be readily'adjustible for yarns of various sizes; through which the yarninaybeeas-ily and quickly threaded and which will not chat'e nor scrapethe yarn; I l invention comprises-a slub catcher having two .coacting members forming between them a yarn clearing hole. one of the members beinginovable to change the size of the hole and-also ino-viable to open the hole. means vbeingemployed for yieldingly holding the members together. An arm 8 projects forwardl from the yarn support in the tension device.

The lug 11 projects laterally from the portion 1 of the bracket in the opposite direction from the branch 6 oft-he loop, into which lug is screwed the pivot pin 12 on which a vertically yielding lateral swinging guard 13 is pivoted. The vertically yielding movement of this guard is provided for in the present instance by a recess 14, within which there is located a coil spring 15, interposed between the bottom of the recess and the head of the pin 12. The outer end of this washer guard 13 is provided with 'a portion 16 which projects over the weighted washer 10 and on top of the pin 9 of the tension device when the guard is in its operative position.
