To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, MArHrAs ANTON KOHN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garbage Incinerators; and if do hereby declare that the following is a fuii. clear, and exact description thereof.

This invention relates to garbage incin erators and is particularly directed to an incinerator in which a burner is employed and is mounted below the charge of garbage, and. in general, this invention is an improvemcnt over my former invention, upon which secured a patent February 15, 1921, No.

V The present invention has the same general objects as those of my former invention.

In garbage burners as heretofore constructed, considerable difficult has been experienced in the clogging o u the burner and associated parts with the consequent difficulties thereby entailed. A further difficulty in properly consuming the charge in the former types of incinerators is due to the fact that the flames and heated products of combustion cannot penetrate the charge freely, but must burn the charge gradually from the outside inwardly. This, under the bestconditions, is a serious handicap to the efiiciency of the operation of the incinorator, and when it is considered that garbage is frequently moist and in n soggy condition, it becomes at once apparent that the process of incineration, under these con ditions, is extremely slow.

It is tOKOVBI'COIllQ these diir'icuities that the present invention is designed, and objects of this invention are to provide a, garbage incinerator which is so constructed that the flames and heated products of combustion are caused to pass freely through thecharge. thereby burning the charge both from the outside inwardly and frorn the inside out wardly, thereby hastening the incineration and providing a more efficient operation.

Further ob1ectsare to provide a. garbage incinerator, in which the burner is protected and guarded, thereby avoiding dogging of the burner, in which a flame distributor and conductor is provided, and s removahiv carried within the incinerator, and in which a removable grate is provided.

tubular flame distributor seated upon said grate and extendingupwardly therefrom and'having'a plurality of apertures through its Walls, and means for engaging and steadying the upper portion of said distributor.

A garbage incinerator comprising an outer casing provided with a top, a perfo- In this man- Lace mo rated colander mounted therein and spaced from such casing, a tapered hopper carried by said colander, a grate positioned adjacent the lower end of said hopper, a burner mounted below said grate, a tubular apertured flame-distributor extending upwardly from adjacent said grate, and interlocking means carried by said top and the upper end of said flame -distrihutor.

A garbage incinerator comprising an outer-casing. a perforated colander mounted therein and spaced from such casing, a tapered hopper carried by said colander, a grate mounted below said tapered hopper, a burner mountedhelow said grate, a tubular apertured flame-distributor seated upon said grate and extending upwardly therefrom and terminating in an apcrtured ear. and

a hook carried by the upper end of such casing and detachably engaging said apertured ear.
