The primary object of the invention is to provide a toy bowling alley wherein a manij kin that is mounted upon a vertical pivot adjacent one end of the alley is provided with a hinged arm having a socket portion at the outer end or hand thereof for holding a' ball with manually operable means for swinging the arm to throw the ball down the alley. v Another object of the invention is to provide a toy bowling alley wherein a metallic blank is bent to provideguide supporting bars with a central alley portion with a depressed gutter at each side of the alley..

jets upwardly through the opening 9'in 'the' rear end of the alley, a cross brace 18' `eXtending between the lever arms 14 out-y wardly of the pivot pin 16 maintaining proper relative positions of the two lever arms 14.` The forward ends of the lever arms 14 are slotted as at 18 through which the lower angle end 19 of a link'20 freely extends, the upper end of the link projecting through either of the slotted openings 7 in the alley 2 and being angujlarly bent as at 21 for free mounting in the `openings 22 adjacent the lower end of the i swinging arm 12. The arm 12 is maintained at its limit of downward movement with 'the presser head 17 projecting upwardly through the opening 9 in the alley 2 by the coil spring 23 interposed between the lower face of the alley 2 and the cross brace 18 as clearly shown inFigs. 2 and 3.

In the operation of the device, a ball is positioned in the socket 13 of the arm 12, and upon Operating the presser head 17 in a downward direction, the lever arms 14 vertically shift the link 20 for swinging the arm 12 to the dotted line position shown in Fig, 2, throwing the ball 24 from the socket 13 along the alley 2for spilling the Vpins L1, the spring 23 vreturning `the swingng arm 12 to its set position and also elevating the presser head 17. By the provisio'n'of the Vertical pivot pin 11 for the inanikin 10, and the slot connection between the lower angle end 19 of the link 20 andthe lever arm 14, the'manikin 10 may be slightly rotated in either direction to control the direction of travel lof the ball 24. Also, by the provi'sion of theT-slotted 'opening'i7 and the apertures 8 the alley 2, the manikin 10 maybe shifted from one side of the alley to the other in which'v either the rightfor' left arm of the manikin may be pivotal-l'y mounted for throwing the ball 24.

VVhile there is here'in's'hown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is nevertheles'to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without ldeparting from the spirit and scope thereof as claime'd. l

In a toy bowling alley, a metallic frame bent t'o provide a central alley portionand 'deprcssed to provide lateral gutters, a 'manikin mounte'd upon a vertical pivot adjacent one end oflthe alley and having a swinging `arm for supporting 'a bowling ball, means for swinging the manikin arm, said means including a Jlever frame embodylng lside arms, struck out portions from the alle'y forfming depen'ding ears to which the arms are pivoted, said alley having a series of openings formed therein, a presser head carried by the lever arms' projecting =upwardly through one of saidopenings, an'd a Xlink Vconnection between the forward end' of said arms-and the swinging arml of the maiiikin freely extending through one of the alley openings.
